This is another Farm-to-table offer on a crowded and very high standard dining scene. Yet, its one Michelin star award is well deserved in all aspects that mattered. The setting is soothing, calm and perhaps a touch too dark for proper appreciation of the food. But for a romantic tête-à-tête, this could be a good choice. The food itself was fresh, well-prepared and executed. But something is missing in the mix that didn’t quite create the buzz like a Gary Danko would when the decor, the food, the service and lighting all came together (see my tripadvisor review). Over time, Spruce will need to have a bit more to continue to captivate its clientele.
