Home of the San Francisco sourdough. Always entertaining to watch the baker's craft the bread animals. Also a good place to enjoy bread and soup in a sourdough bread cup.

We were at Bistro Boudin in late March and enjoyed the large room with a view. Lots of hustle and bustle in this upstairs dining room. Indifferent waitress was slow to return with our drinks which were simple beer and soda and also slow to return to take our food order. Overall, the bread was tasty; the chowder in the bread bowl was 90% potatoes and nothing special (expected a bit more from a Northern California restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf); the Anchor Steam fish and chips was a decent dish and the burger was standard. If we had the waiter at the next table I'd bump the rating up a notch, but we didn't. If the wait staff doesn't care about their tables it makes for a mediocre meal. An average meal.

Chose here for breakfast and so glad we did. Everything made fresh. The breakfast wraps were light, fluffy and very tasty. Big enough to share. We also chose to try the clam chowder for lunch the following day. Excellent!

Touristy, but must have the iconic Boudin chowder in a bread bowl. A free museum is located beside the Bistro and you can watch bread being made in their bakery. Tip: prices for chowder in a bread bowl less expensive in the Bakery on ground level.
