Went for dinner, was pleasantly surprised by the extensive selection and the reasonable prices. On a side street off 3rd, it's easy to miss and surrounded by other restaurants but it's worth stopping in. The soup and Pad Thai were both very tasty and my husband really enjoyed his stir fried vegetables (Pad Pak) and jasmine rice.

It's easy to miss Cha-am, hidden under an overhang on the SW corner of 3rd and Folsom and sharing a building with an Indian restaurant. But Cha-Am is, by far, the better of the two Thai restaurants at 3rd and Folsom. (The other, on the SE corner, is a local chain.) There's a good selection of lunch specials, priced slightly lower than the same items on the full menu, which is also available at lunchtime. The food was very good, at least for our Western palates, and the service was efficient. Good value for money, too.

Our group came in after trying a few places around the area that had significant wait times. It wasn't full, which was initially concerning, but in the end the food was good and the service, while slow to take our initial order, turned out to be fine. Nothing special about the deco but if you need a spot with some space for groups near the convention center this place works.

We were among 26000 geophysicists looking for lunch near moscone center and needed a place to serve a group of 30. They honored our reservation, diverse mix of vegetarian and non veggie plates were served in nice order so things did not stack up and all could be tasted. Food was very good but must confess Thai food is not as spicy as when i first exposed in the 80s. Second time here for me and would come again if at moscone or the museum

I order our company luncheons from this place from time to time and not only do my colleagues all love the food, but the service in getting the delivery on-time and correct has been excellent.

The menu is quite extensive so its great -- you can always find something for someone on the menu.

The imperial rolls are delicious!
