Description: Craftsman and Wolves is a contemporary pâtisserie and cafe located in San Francisco's vibrant Mission district. Under the direction of Chef William Werner, CAW offers an ever changing menu of breakfast pastries, cakes, confections, confitures, desserts, lunch, and other savory fare seven days a week. The name is a nod to the craftsman and the numerous challenges that one faces when pursuing their craft (the wolves). For William, Craftsman and Wolves is the pursuit of fifteen years' experience in restaurants and hotels on both the East and West Coast during which he has refined techniques for pastry and chocolate work, honed in on his presentation style, and expanded his palette of flavors.

The friendliest staff we've encountered at a coffee/ bakery so far. We had a quiche and a breakfast sandwich that were both delicious. Must go!

We were shopping in the Mission District and happened upon this amazing coffee/bake shop. We had to try the bacon muffin with the soft boiled egg. Wow!! I have never seen this done so well and would like to recreate it myself... It is am absolute must to try. Can't wait to go back to try the savory scones.

We stopped here on the advice of family that lives in the area. It was difficult to decide what to try because everything looked wonderful. We started with coffee and kouign amann with demerara sugar. It was delicious so we tried the dark chocolate ganache kouign amann as well - just as wonderful. While we were enjoying our coffee and treats, one of the staff brought a yuzu stone to our table when he realized it was our wedding anniversary. It was beyond delicious. Needless to say, we had our sweet fix for the day and it was worth every calorie!

The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We look forward to going back again when in the area.

Stepping into Craftsman and Wolves is like stepping into dessert heaven. There is everything from simple muffins to elaborate french desserts, perfectly manicured and glistening. It's almost too pretty to eat. The displays are well lit so it's perfect for ogling the immaculate desserts. We came here because they specialize in Kouign-Amann, the Breton pastry, made of viennoiserie dough containing layers of butter and sugar folded in. There is a caramel apple and plain, and they were both delicious. Caramel was smooth and not too sweet, it complemented the pastry very nicely, and I usually don't like caramel. They also make various espresso drinks and the cappuccino was very good.

We shared a Yuzu dessert. It was good. You can tell that it is crafted by a paste chef. Their soup and sandwiches are good. Loved this cafe. Family frequents this place.
