Some truly amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge from this lovely and expansive park. We were too late to get into the Legion of Honor (I think they close at 5pm), but did do some unexpected bird watching (osprey & falcon or hawk). Will definitely return on a future trip to SF.

this park is huge, so big that families got there to take a piece of it and sit and have their family picnics and play baseball or football. the flowers, the trees and the statues are beautiful and every thing is so well maintained. it really is a surprise around every corner. never crowded because its so big.

Take a long bus ride on the #1 California. Get off at Clement and walk through the park to the Palace of the Legion of Honor. See the GG Bridge. Smell the plants. Can't be beat.

Lincoln Park got its name by being the western end of the Lincoln Highway, The Lincoln Highway was the first road across the USA. There are stellar views of the Bay, San Francisco skyline, and Golden Gate Bridge from Lincoln Park.

We have visited this park often, The Legion of Honor Museum, which is a fine art museum, is here. There is also a memorial to the Holocaust.

There is also a nice golf course to play here. The course is an 18 hole golf course first opened in 1928. It is 6,149 yards long and has stellar views also of San Francisco and the Golden Gate.

Throughout the park, we enjoy seeing the beautiful landscape of mature cypress, pine trees, and native landscaping on the rolling hills.

When I consider the parks that my kids grew up with they had a VW bug compared to the Cadillac parks in SF. Lincoln Park has plenty of room for a picnic, a stroll or hours of fun on the equipment. When you walk to where the equipment is the ground feels like a trampoline. It would be hard to hurt yourself on this surface. The slides and jungle jims are very inventive/creative too. Go enjoy the ambiance and a sandwich even if you don't have kids :0)
