Me and Abbey enjoyed our second stay at Hotel Del Sol. It may not have all the bells and whistles of some hotels, but it's definitely comfortable and quaint. I wouldn't recommend the bottom floor rooms (poolside) the one we saw was a bit rough, but the other rooms are quite comfortable. The location is perfectly set in the Marina District. Set close enough to walk to the Marina, Crissy Field, Palace of Fine Arts or Chestnut Street (shopping and food). Parking can be tight, but the fee is very reasonable for the City (25.00). There is a nice simple breakfast in the morning with juice, coffee, bagels (cream cheese), croissants, etc..
Finally the staff was pleasant and very accommodating.
For the price and location we will return again.

We had 3 nights in this lovely hotel, which is situated close to bus stops and restaurants.
We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman ( cant remember his name, but spanish name as i recall), he told us all about the hotel and which resataurants in the area that Would be worth a visit. He also told us which busses to catch to go Down town. The room was big and had a little room for suitcases, and in that room There also Was a safetybox. There were no fridge in the room. The room Was Nice and clean, and had a heater/cooler. The bathroom had a hairdryer. Breakfast Was served in the reception, and Was some bagels, cakes, juice and coffee, you took it to your room, where we had a table and two chairs, so that Was an ok arrangement. Parking in the hotel Was a bit pricey, but i guess that is the price in SF.
All in all we would for sure return to this hotel if we ever go back to San Francisco.

Very nice motel with very nice and helpful staff. There was crusty old bread under our TV table but other than that everything was great! The front desk was very helpful giving us ideas of things to do and where to eat. The breakfast served in the morning was perfect.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel is really nice - the rooms are clean and tidy and the location is perfect. The hotel is minutes from shops and restaurants, and is within walking distance of fishermans wharf. The staff are friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.

We booked this hotel because it sells itself as being “kid friendly”. We were travelling with our 14 month old toddler. It’s hard work travelling with a toddler and so we were very much looking forward to staying somewhere where our needs as parents and our child’s needs had been considered. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

Whilst it is charming that it is a converted motel the “garden area” is essentially in the middle of a car park with no fence. Cars were actually parked on the grass on numerous occasions. There was, therefore, nowhere safe to let our little one run around. A simple fence demarcating the car park from the garden would be a great improvement.

I was amazed that this “kid friendly’ hotel (which serves food) did not have any high chairs. It is hard work to feed a toddler without a high chair in a car park. The provision of a high chair would be very easy. Furthermore, none of the rooms had a bathtub (except for the disabled room). It is virtually impossible to shower a baby or a toddler. Whilst it is not actually specified on the website whether a bath is provided, it is implied as “luxury bath products” are included.

On a positive note, the room and shower room were very clean and comfortable with lots of storage space. The staff were generally excellent – a particular mention to Oscar who was charming and helpful. I also enjoyed the design of the hotel and it had a nice feel. However, overall the hotel did not meet my expectations at all. It wouldn’t be difficult to really make this hotel kid friendly. However, as it was, I would say it was probably one of the least kid friendly hotels I have ever stayed at! It was not a relaxing place to be with a child.
