This hotel is a classic, such lovely attention to detail in the lobby, rooms and common areas. I was shocked & pleasantly surprised to snag the MH on priceline. I've frequented the Top of the Mark, but had never stayed in a room.

Check in was quick, friendly and professional. The room was small, but adequate. It was very clean and felt luxurious. Keep in mind, this is a classic hotel & the decor reflects as such. The bed is one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. It was very quiet & peaceful and we had a wonderful nights sleep. The housekeeping staff were very sweet & friendly.

The fitness room is very small/cramped but it does the trick! A few treadmills & ellipticals, a set of free weights, 2 balls & a few nautilus machines.

The elevators are tiny, and there are only 3 of them, so be prepared to wait during peak hours. TOTM is a lot of fun. The drinks aren't of any particular greatness and are certainly not worth their $13 price tag, but the ambiance and view makes up for it and more :). Put on a fancy outfit and enjoy your evening!

Room Tip: The higher up the better, but all rooms have an excellent view from atop Nob Hill!

Top notch service. Doesn't get better. As it was my second time there, i was as impressed by the rooms as much as the first time. Very spacious and well done. The location is on top of the hill and the views from the hotel bar/restaraunt are second to none. So much to do and see around either on foot or cable car. The dining is very good no matter what your taste as are the many attractions clsoe to the hotel. San Francisco is the place see and the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins is the place to stay.

The Mark Hopkins remains an iconic San Francisco hotel and rewards those who are happy to stay on Nob Hill and undertake the commuting that this involves. We were upgraded to a junior suite with a good view and this made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The pricing for us made this visit very good value.

The Mark Hopkins is a grand old hotel on the top of nob hill...i arrived on the California Street Trolley from the ferry building from Mill Valley...You can grab the trolleys in both directions..and if you are fit enough, you can walk up and down Nob Hill. I was in to see two games at ATT Park , catcingh the Phillies-Giants. Walking in S.F. is invigourating! The hills here are intense. The hotel and staff are lovely, and I look forward to another visit real soon

The Front-desk Service was a disappointment. The stay was a gift for my sister-in law and her husband, which spent the last days of their three week honeymoon trip at the hotel. My travel agent booked the room and provided everthing with my credt card, so the honeymooners won't get bothered paying the stay. The front desk personal was not able - even in times of electronic pay systems - to book the stay on my card. Would have to swipe the card. So the honeymooners called me and even trough the phone, I couldn't arrange the payment with the lady from the front-desk. The honeymooners paid by themselves and my surprise was ruined!

At least the honeymooners enjoyed the stay. But I definitely have this hotel on my blacklist!!!

Dear TonyGwynn19,

Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that the honeymoon surprise you planned did not work out.

Unfortunately, due to security reasons, we are unable to accept credit card payments over the phone; we require a form of payment physically presented to the hotel and a matching identification along with it.

For the protection of our guests, we have implemented very strict credit card handling procedures.

We do make every possible effort to coordinate and help with special occasions and events for our guests, and are able to take third-party credit card payments as long as a credit card authorization form is filled out by the payer.

If there is anything else you would like to comment on, please feel free to contact me personally at jengchi.hung@ihg.com

Thank you!
