The hotel is well located in the heart of San Francisco, easily accessible and "close to everything". The staff is nice and friendly and is eager to help with any request.
It should be noted that it requires a modernization to be able to reach modern standards, especially where windows are concerned which really don't block any noise from the outside.

We stayed here for three nights whilst exploring San Francisco and found it to be a great boutique hotel. Service was really friendly and the overall decor was very stylish with proper artwork on the walls. Some of the rooms are small but well furnished and remarkably quiet for a city centre hotel.
Location wise it is only five min walk to Union Square and also to the Powell-Hyde cable car if you want to go up to Fishermans Wharf. The only thing that lets it down is the $55.86 valet parking charge per day, $49 plus $6.86 tax, which is eye watering. Makes London look cheap. There are other options nearby ranging from $30 to $40 per day so I would seek them out rather than paying the valet fee and wince afterwards as we did.
The property is in a good location, but not a good value at $390 per night. It is dirty, lobby furniture is in tatters and the wine selection is poor in the bar. The room was adequate but also needs major furniture replacement and carpets throughout hotel need replacement.
The room was big and very spacious and the decor was amazing.
There were plenty of bathrooms and supplies I needed throughout my stay and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only downfall was that the day of my check out I had ABSOLUTELY no water. The water was so cold I could not even shower.
It was a last minute booking. The price was good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the general decor was interesting. Tony at the bar was charming and gracious. It was a block or so from Union Square, very convenient.
