Interesting arcade with eclectic food shops (many organic) and little eateries, some standup, some sitdown. Spend an hour browsing with two teenagers so something for everyone there

It’s difficult to walk through the market and not see some food that you would like to try. Great cross section of tastes and cuisine from around America.

This was fun. A lot of great restaurants and stores to meet everyone's needs. The atmosphere is terrific, a bit crowded but a lot of fun stores and things to do. A must - see.

Each time I have visited San Francisco, we have come here. There are quite a few culinary gems to be found. This time, we found fresh uni (sea urchins) the size of one's fist. They were still alive (sorry PETA) and we ate them right then and there at the fish market. There is NOTHING like fresh uni...and you cannot find it everywhere. San Francisco is a big exporter. The last time I was able to enjoy this delicacy was in Lima Peru. At a different restaurant, I had the best mushroom burger I've ever had. They used a variety of your less common mushrooms than what is the norm. There is usually a collection of people selling their wares at stalls across the Embarcadero across from the Ferry Building.

We walked from Fisherman’s wharf, exploring all the different piers on the way. It was a good walk but very pleasant on a lovely sunny day.

The ferry building is un-missable as you walk towards the clock tower and it has been sympathetically restored. There was a veg/fruit market outside the building. Inside it is foodie heaven with gourmet, speciality cheeses, pastries, bread, artisan foods and crafts galore. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants and also some fantastic smells too! It was enjoyable wandering in pleasant surroundings, savouring the lovely smells and sights of fresh food.

We caught a Pedi-cab (bicycle cab) back to Pier 39 which was also very enjoyable. You could also catch a street car back towards Fisherman’s Wharf
