I hadn't been to the Ferry Building since it's revitalization and I was so happily surprised to find such a vibrant, interesting environment. Loved the farmers market and the artisan food vendors. Great place to spend a few hours on a weekend morning!

yum...slanted door, blue bottle coffee, cow girl creamery, and many more!

The Ferry Wine Merchant is a great place to sit, and TASTE a bunch of cool, funky wine. The guys behind the wine bar have great suggestions.

First day in SF and craving seafood. Where else? Check out the Ferry Terminal Seafood Restaurant. Great views across the bay and the portions were extremely satisfying. Go early as it gets packed at lunch time!

We visited the Ferry Marketplace Building on a Monday and weren't overly impressed. I had pretty high hopes after reading the great reviews. There is definitely a lot of interesting little food shops selling everything from fungi to milk, cheeses and breads and pastries. There is a grocery store, a book store and a couple of restaurants as well. This place is similar to Chelsea Market in New York which I actually really enjoyed. It wasn't overly busy, but probably because we were there early morning on a Monday. We opted for some Mexican food at Mijita and were extremely disappointed. We ordered huevos rancheros and a tortilla soup, neither of which were very good and we ended up leaving hungry and grabbing food elsewhere. All in all we would recommend skipping this attraction.
