Quaint motel with brightly painted blue doors. Small, in that mid-century way. But if you are a hiker and just want a place to sleep, this is perfect. Staff was friendly. Laundry room was clean and convenient. They also have a heated pool and a campfire area. Choose or request a room in the teens or twenties for a quiet rest away from the road.
Easy 5 minute walk to a lobster shack for a casual dinner. Cool geocache nearby at old graveyard!

Room tip: Quieter rooms away from the road are numbered in teens and twenties.

We book our room at this motel every year for the following year upon our checkout, just to be sure we're guaranteed our spot. The staff makes us feel at home. The rooms are small (but who cares. All we need is a bed and a bathroom) and they are clean with NEW sheets and towels.
The pool and the grounds are kept spotless and well manicured. The bonfire circle is lit in the evening making it nice to sit around a chat with family and even meet new people.
We have been coming back here for a two week stay for the last 4 years and are very happy with everything. You are left needing nothing as the staff (especially Tom) is always on call to immediately help fix any situation.
Thank you Belle Isle. See you again next year.

I'm conflicted. Pros-staff was very nice. They allow pets even though we decided not to bring our dog. The pool was heated and clean and surprisingly empty at night. They did s bon fire at night. You could grill. It was convenient to bar harbor, Acadia and Ellesworth. We spent the majority of our time in Acadia hiking. Our family, 2 kids 17 and 11, couldn't be bothered with bar harbor except for ice cream and sweatshirts. My husband would get Dunkin' Donuts every morning in Ellsworth and bring it back. They have a great Walmart and we stocked the fridge with breakfast and lunch stuff. It was actually the best fridge ever. It actually kept stuff cold and frozen.
Cons- the room was a postage stamp. But we knew that. We checked in around 8 and come to found out the lock didn't work. But....someone was there very shortly to fix it. It did have a funky smell. There was no fan in the bathroom which with 4 showers in a row it ended up being a rain forest. Really. The lighting was horrible. The plug availability was not much better. The thing that killed us was the noise. Our room faced the road. It sounded like we were in the middle of I95. Never have we experienced anything like it and we have stated in some sketchy places. Make sure your room is not in the front and you will be fine.
All in all, I would do it again if we were in the back with one less kid and some good frizz free hair products!!

We were visiting Cadillac Mountain in July. Party of 10 booked 5 rooms months ago. We realized that we had booked the rooms for wrong date only when showed up to check-in! The receptionist (owner's sister-in-law) Benita was very understanding and helpful. She booked us another place to stay not too far from this location. It wasn't easy to find 5 rooms in July! I must recommend both Benita and the owner's pleasant nature and helpfulness. They even worked out the cancellation process with expedia! You made our vacation extra special!

My wife and I, late 60's, stayed here for 4 nights end of July 2017. Yes, the rooms are small and there is no tube. But you came to see Acadia NP and not spend time in your room. The bed is comfortable and it is a very quit, old time motel. Also very clean. It has AC (we didn't need it) and an over head fan which we did use one night. Also has a good size mini frig and a small coffee maker. Great for a quick breakfast sitting on the two seat w/table bench at your front door. Heated swimming pool and nice grounds. Very friendly staff. It is an ideal base to explore Acadia NP.

Room tip: The higher to room number the father away from the road in the older section
