If you're ready to drop the heavy load we all carry in our daily lives, this is the place for you. Yes it's TINY (210 sq. ft), and yes it could use more (any) closet or drawer space. But after a few hours here none of that mattered to us. The constant sound of the waves, completely empty beach (especially Sunday afternoon - Thursday), Hawaiian green sea turtles feeding in the shallow water right outside our bedroom window from 3-6 every day, and stunning array of stars at night made it all worthwhile. There is an airfield right across the street for single prop planes - they took off and landed maybe 3-4 times during the day, but the sound of it only lasted a few seconds. It was not intrusive at all. We went into Wailea to Mamela grocery several times, and once to Giovanni's grilled shrimp truck for meal items, and had wonderful meals on the deck. Reuben and Bernie were very sweet and helpful, and made sure we were comfortable. If you enjoy a big resort scene with lots of activities and people, you won't be happy here. But if, like us, you're needing to drop off the grid, this is the place for you. It was heavenly, and we'll be back. Aloha!
Sweet, clean and comfortable place. Not typical touristy and close to great beaches, waterfalls and good food. Nice vibe and very helpful owner and staff. If you like the Four Seasons lifestyle not for you, but if you like bohemian and fun this is 4 stars.
We stayed in the orange cottage right on the sand. There are also two other, larger cottages within the compound.
It was private, rural, and had ample local activity. Within the first 18-hours of checking in, we swam with turtles under a rainbow! We saw a host of reef fish when snorkeling too. The following day, there were spear fishermen and parachuters right out side the windows. The property managers (different than the owners) were so helpful in suggesting places on the North Shore to go exploring in. The owners themselves were really easy to work with. We booked well in advance, and they kept open communication as we neared our visit.
Yes- It is not a 4-5 star resort, but that is why we chose it. It's a little wonky, but unlike anything you could ever experience anywhere else. We appreciated having the kitchen to save money cooking our own meals; and the compound has multiple gas grills and washer/dryers to use. So it was our home-away-from-home. We'll definitely be back, and hopefully bring our whole family too!
Although the location is 3-4 stars the accommodation is only 1-2 stars
Property needs serious upgrading and equipment , utensils etc need to be replaced As an example there was one table knife for unit and towels were Value Village quality
Property is quite isolated from amenities and beach is not really for lounging but good for surfing Caretakers were helpful and pleasant
Pictures of unit are very enticing but reality is a lot different Very overpriced
