Not sure what the big deal is since this is just another local Hawaii Korean BBQ place. Most Korean BBQ places are fairly good and this is no exception. Dirty place with good tasting food. The meat chun is tasty and plentiful. The kalbi was tender but there were only two slices. Only complaint is the Kim Chee was a little sour.....will I go back? Of course.

"Fine Korean Food" is what they on their menu, "Since,1975". Take their word for this. The meals we four had were delicious - and the chicken broth soup is offered as a light and lovely first course, after the kim chi, naturally. The atmosphere...none, unless you remember Wahiawa in the 70's. Kali was delicious. So instead of walking into McDonalds, just use their parking lot and walk across Olive Street and try this place. We ended up ordering another take out (they also cater) so our absent member could enjoy what we had just eaten. And - the most expensive thing on the menu was $16.00, most dinners under $10!

Liked by everyone in the family. Yes, greasy, but yummy! Think calling in your order and picking up is better than dining in. Meat chun is the best here.

This was the place that taught me I didn't have to keep getting fast food to save money. The line was so long at McD's (right across the street, Don Yang is behind McDonald's) so I thought, "What the heck." It became my favorite restaurant for the two years I lived on Oahu. Portions are amazing (big enough for two lite eaters) with double scoop rice, potato/macaroni salad (no, not your choice of potato or macaroni; it's mixed together!), some kim chee. Then, hibacheed beef or my favorite, the dark meat chicken. Also amazing: Meat jun, a fried beef cutlet which goes from pretty good to great because of the modified interesting soy sauce it comes with. The soup they start the meal with? Bad. It just tastes like a little grease, chicken flavored, in hot water. I mean, for "free" it's ok. Prices are GREAT. Yes, it's a little run down. Service is just fair (though there was a cute girl who worked there who'd always come over to say hello to me whether she was my waitress or not). Overall, one of my favorite restaurants in the world --- because of the simple yet amazing food!

This place has been a go-to for our family for many years. The meat jun is probably the best you'll get anywhere in Hawaii. If you eat inside, you also get this awesome soup with egg strips inside. I eat in often, just for the soup. The portions are humongous, but I still don't share. :). I actually wooed my wife by bringing her takeout from to.e to go.e from Dong Yang! Keep it up!
