Would a trip to Hawaii be complete without a stop at the Dole plantation store to watch a demonstration of the proper way to cut a pineapple and a chance to buy anything and everything pineapple including pineapple jelly beans? Or how about Dole Whip!?! If it wasn't for the 15-20 minute wait in line to buy the Dole Whip, I definitely would have had another.

We were in Hawaii for our honeymoon in November . The day we landed this was our first sightseeing spot . We loved the maze it was fun . It was bit cooler in evening. We tried their vegetarian burger it was very tasty .. we took the dole plantation train ride didn’t see pineapple may be because no season but sale lot of other fruits . Their flower garden is super pretty so wear a nice dress to get nice pictures!!!

The Dole Plantation is a complete tourist trap. It's gimmicky, crowded and full of overpriced souvenirs. That said, I still enjoyed my hour or two here. We'd been driving for a while and stopped to get a drink, use the restrooms, etc... ended up shopping and watching demonstrations and generally having a pleasant time. Sure, you can get an entire pineapple at home for less than a small bowl here, but you are paying for the atmosphere. I bought a couple of the cutest Hawaiian dresses for my daughter with matching ones for her doll. We also found a couple of leather bracelets that were nice, bought a Dole whip and hit the road. I wouldn't plan an entire day around the plantation but if you are in the area, it's worth a stop.

They sell lots of merchandise and food, but if you are actually interested in pineapple then you're at the wrong place. You're better off pulling off the highway and looking at the fields from there.

While the novelty of pineapple themed everything was cute, this place is way too packed. Impossible to enjoy much when it's wall to wall people and incredibly long queues.
Expensive pineapple stuff and a CRAZY long queue to get the same Dole whip you can get everywhere in Hawaii. Doors are flanked by very aggressive 'find-a-pearl' ladies. The booths outside looked a little more appealing, but that could have been because it was raining so their queues were short.
We didn't do the maze because there were so many people I had to get out of there. Maybe stop in quickly if you want a souvenir and don't make eye contact with the pearl ladies!
