This resort is truly fantastic. The location is pristine, about 45 minutes outside of Honolulu and away from the traffic. The area of Ko Olina has a lovely beach walk that you can walk from hotel to hotel experience the different restaurants and the marketplace across the street. The beaches are well maintained and each of the inlets are protected from the high waves making it ideal for children to swim. The Marriott is the nicest of the resorts here. I highly recommend.

Having stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian village, and Disney's Aulani, I have to say that Marriott Ko Olina is the best resort in Oahu. The moment you enter the resort, you get that Aloha feel that we are used to having travelled to Maui so many times. You feel it's time to relax and enjoy a truly Hawaiian vacation. We rented a two bedroom villa in the Naia tower that was facing the ocean and pools. We had the best view. We saw the luau from our balcony. The room was a good size and everything was I working order.
We have four children who couldn't get enough of the pools and activities this resort had to offer. You don't have to line up to enroll the kids in the programs. Most of it is drop in. My kids couldn't get enough of the Cosmic bingo. The staff are all friendly and are eager to help everyone. For example, when my daughter and another person won blackout bingo and there was only one prize, the activities manager (Mel), came the next morning and presented a bag full of goodies (for all four girls) and a teddy bear keepsake to say that she was the bingo champion. That made her vacation and it is something she still talks about to everyone.
Kariel the famous mermaid was there twice in the pools playing with the kids. Again, another memory for the kids as they watch her show on YouTube.
My husband loved hanging at the cabana bar, and there was live singing some days by the pool.
The pools are beautiful and they are clean! They are open and lit up until 10 pm. We would swim at night and then hang out at one of the two huge fire pits.
The restaurants on site were good and service excellent. We are so happy to have spent one blissful week here before going Aulani which was not at all as good as the Marriott. I recommend this resort for families with kids and for those without kids, there is a large private pool that is quiet for you to enjoy without kids. There's something for everyone here.

This resort must rate as one of the best I have visited. Beautiful position on the seafront, excellent facilities especially the pools. It was Easter and the resort was full but it was still possible to get sunbeds around the pool and beachfront and it didnt seem overcrowded. Sea view units are more pool than sea although you can see the sea, but the units are well equipped and serviced.

We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon during spring break week. It wasn't swarming with people at that point but by the time we left on Sunday it was.

I wasn't impressed with the view from our room. Though it was a mountain view we also had a great view of the parking lot right below us. There are 3 buildings that make up the property. We were in the main building where you check in. We were in a studio room and had a small sink, fridge, microwave and sofa bed, as well as a small balcony.

The resort sits along the walking path that runs parallel to other resorts so via a short walk you can explore what some of the other resorts in the immediate area have to offer, especially by way of dining. There are basically 2 dining options, Longhi's and Longboards, definitely not enough variety for our 6 day/5 night stay, which is why we visited other restaurants within walking distance.

On the lower level in the main building there is a Marketplace store that has a Starbucks, as well as souvenirs, snacks, and drinks. In this same area outside the store they sometimes have vendors selling various wares.

There is also a poolside bar I believe, however we didn't visit that. The pool area was too congested, again maybe due to it being spring break week. They do have an adult pool if quiet and serenity are expected there, the location doesn't really seem to make sense.

The lagoons on the property are beautiful as are the grounds (koi pond, flowers, trees, birds, etc.) and the staff is very friendly.

The resort is about 40 minutes from the Honolulu airport and we found there really wasn't enough to do at the resort by way of activities (at least for our tastes). There were a few activities offered every day but none that really piqued our interest. So we rented a car one day (Enterprise is in the building along with a shuttle service you can arrange for transportation to the airport) and took in some local attractions.

The concierge desk was very helpful in helping us with things we could do outside of the resort including info on the golf course right across the street and other local attractions worth checking out.

Though we were looking for more to do, as mentioned, there are other resorts in the immediate area within walking distance, as well as a company that does luaus. This resort also offers its own luau on Tuesday evenings. We unfortunately missed it due to jet lag and our sleeping patterns being off from the time difference since we came in from the East Coast.

I am glad I got a chance to experience a little bit of Hawaii but if visiting again I would probably opt for a resort that had a bit more to offer.

Thank you for your feedback, Lynnie. We are sorry to hear there was not quite enough to keep you entertained during your visit. Your comments are appreciated and will be shared with the resort management team. We do hope this sparked a desire to visit the islands again and we hope your next stay at a Marriott Vacation Club is wonderful.

Our family stayed here for 6 nights this past week. The resort was busy due to spring break however we did not feel bombarded. The rooms are spacious and they are equipped with all kitchen utensils that one might need. The parking stalls are quite small which caused some nervous moments parking a van. Overall a great place to enjoy with a family.
