This "greasy spoon" is a no frills plate lunch stop with an enormous menu of regular selections like Beef Stew, Chicken Katsu and Fried Mahi Mahi. They also have daily specials handwritten on a board which supplement their long list of entrees. Their menu shows creativity and savvy understanding of "local" tastes. There are at least 10 combo plates listed (e.g. BBQ Mixed Plate: BBQ chicken, Short Ribs, Teriyaki Steak) as well as the ability to create your own. Shrimp curry, Mochiko Chicken, Chili Hot Dog and Breaded Pork Chop are all examples of just how far-reaching their cuisine can go. There's something for everybody. Burgers, fried rice, breakfast entrees, New York Steak, Orange Chicken.... it just goes on and on. Their portions are generous and the plate is heavy when handed over. The prices are tremendously reasonable at around $7.50 for a regular plate and $4.75 for a mini. They also cater party pans. I usually get the Garlic Chicken plate which comes with 2 scoops rice and mac salad, as most all plates do. The workers are all Chinese and some are not too easily understood, but they understand you. They are not the smiliest, friendliest bunch, but they are efficient and not rude. There is sufficient seating for about 8 families inside the simple dining room. I would go there first before I headed to L&L. My only gripe is that they try to pass off Sweet and Sour Sauce for Katsu sauce. We're not that easily fooled. Please just stock up on katsu sauce, L&R!
