This unit was very clean and had a very fresh new look. The room consisted of a closet, a bathroom with hot water and good water pressure, a small kitchen area that had a hot plate, microwave, tiny fridge and minimal utensils. There was no AC, thank fully there was a ceiling fan and a nice breeze but was slightly too hot some nights. One of the biggest concerns we had was that the bath room was basically connected to someone else's front door patio which made your mornings and evenings very awkward and uncomfortable. There needs to be something done about the privacy issue there for sure. The bedroom window from the house looked onto the rental unit's bed where you sleep which could be easily fixed by closing the windows and sheer curtains but then your breeze is compromised and with no AC that was not an option. This issues could be easily fixed if they would place some form of partition or privacy fencing of some form in those two areas. The private entrance definitely needs some work, the combination of wet grass, steep hill, and slippers makes for a good spill at least one of the nights staying there. Surf boards, boogie board, snorkel gear, ice chests, beach chars, and beach towels were accessible, we didn't see any bikes but would have had to be daring to ride them on the highway anyhow because your not close to a bike route. However the short 2 min walk to an amazing beach with tons of honu was very refreshing and with Haleiwa and Waimea within a 4 min drive in either direction of you was nice. Everything was combination locks which was nice not had to carry around or worry about loosing a key, however the lack of lighting in the two areas where you use the combination made it very frustrating. The location of the unit is located in a very friendly family and dog oriented neighborhood. We met the landlord and he was very accommodating and friendly and informed us that the unit was in working progress. I would most definitely would like to come back to this spot and would be giving it 5 stars if they would address the privacy and walk way issues.
