“Poke Disappointment”

Tamura's Fine Wine & Liquors
Reviewed 6 April 2018

Upon entering the store on Easter Sunday, cashier looked bored and not interested in greeting us. We were the only customers in the store. I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised that for an easter sunday (2 pm) that there were no customers. she said that everyone shopped yesterday and the day before. We sampled 4 different pokes. Girl not at all friendly and no smiles when we asked to try samples. We purchased the limu poke, spicy ahi poke, island ahi poke and sweet 'n sour pipikaula. Disappointed in all the pokes. They taste was watery, not fresh and texture was tough. The pipikaula was good, but very inconsistant sizes. Disappointed

We found liquor prices here to be some of the best on the island. $8 cheaper than at the distillery for Sammy Hagar's Rum. Definitely pop in here!

A great place to grab lunch and head back to the hotel.

Why eat overpriced mediocre hotel food when you can drive 5 minutes grab a variety of poke and a beer. Great variety and moderately priced. For less than an order of fried onion rings pool side, you can enjoy fresh poke.

As with most poke places variety changes daily and once they’re out, they’re out.

Located in a business park is inside a liquor store. Don’t let this sway you. Worth the drive.

This place looks like a dive but they have the best ahi fish poke (raw fish salad) we had on Maui. OMG so good better than expensive restaurants. Good liquor selection too.

If you need a poke fix, this is the place. Get the Tamura’s Sauce poke. It is my new favorite. Not a restaurant, a liquor store with a great selection of poke to go.
