This restaurant was a real surprise. We were just walking along a picked this place at random. You walk through a store to get to it. The view is amazing. Megan was our server who was both friendly and helpful. We had delicious fish and chips, and Brazilian special croquettes. Delicious. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is right on the water, in fact right over the water. You cannot beat the views as you are in East Maui and so you can see Molokai and Lanai from where you are sitting. This is not something you can see from other parts of the island and it's extremely relaxing. The food is top-notch and you do not want to miss breakfast. It's a bit of a drive but you will want to take it. Excellent service and fantastic coffee.

My husband and I had dinner at Koa and we absolutely loved it! We started the evening at the bar while waiting for the perfect Oceanside table. The bartender was wonderful! He was so friendly and personable and talked with us the entire time as we asked him questions about the big wave surfing that was on TV. Once our table was ready, we were seated immediately....at a perfect spot! We ordered our dinner as the waves lapped up. Lisa was our waitress and she was extremely professional and an absolute darling! It was obvious that she knows her stuff - very knowledgeable of the menu and knew exactly what kind of experience a diner should have. Truly - this place felt like home. At a very reasonable price ($50 for surf and turf) - we don’t think we’ve had a better steak or lobster anywhere else! Both were perfectly cooked to our liking. We also had the bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer and these were special! The pesto sauce, a sweet pineapple jam, savoury bacon, and the huge scallops were a perfect combination. As we were in Hawaii for our honeymoon, the restaurant comped us the most incredible banana cream pie for dessert!! Honestly, this dessert on its own is worthy of a second visit to Koa!! Lastly, I must also mention that the manager was fantastic. He checked in with us a few times during our dining experience to ensure everything was just right. The entire Koa experience made us feel very special. We will definitely go back one more time before we leave this Hawaii paradise. Thanks Koa. On a side note, we went for dinner at 8pm and only waited 10 minutes for our table. So, I would recommend making reservations for prime dinner times.

Thank Amy B
