This place was magical!!! It was the perfect place for our family of 10. We were celebrating my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We were a group of 10 including a 1, 4 and 6 year old. This place was so perfect for us. Plenty of room. Plenty of lovely outdoor space to sit and relax. Really I feel like we could have easily had 10 more people there and all been comfortable as far as the space to chill (2 dining tables, kitchen bar, several outdoor areas). The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed. We cooked most nights because it is so nice and relaxing there!
The pool was excellent!!! So wonderful -especially for the kids (have to keep a very close eye out because the doors/windows will likely be open for the breeze and kids like to wander!). They already had plenty of pool toys and floaties there for the kids. The landscaping/setting was so beautiful. It is very private and quiet. I can't really say enough about how great of a place it was for us. Location is excellent as well. Walk or 5 minute drive to poipu beach (which was a wonderful beach for all of us- especially the kids!).
We also rented the guesthouse next door. Which brings me to pretty much the only negative thing I could say- it was pretty hot. The house was pretty warm especially if there wasn't a good breeze outside (which there usually is). They provided us with a fan in each room which was very nice. I was fine but a few of the guys in the group slept hot. Keep in mind we usually didn't have the accordion window all the way open because we didn't want the kids wandering out on their own so I'm sure that would have made a big difference.
I would request fans and several fans if you are in the guesthouse.
The house was not super updated as far as fixtures and decor go but I really don't care about that at all.
It was very functional for us and I could not have asked for a better place. It was just so lovely and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
The house is nestled in the hills of Poipu Beach in between the Hyatt and the Marriott. Minutes from great high and low end restaurants, golf, coffee shops, luxury hotels. The website pics are great, but in person is where its at! It's better in person. The upgreades the new owers have put into the house and cottage are wonderful. The concept is to open windows and doors and let the air cooi the house down! We realized this within minutes of arriving!
We had a family of six, 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 grandparents and we had more than enough room to spread out and enjoy our time. From the swinging chairs, the lounge chairs, the rocking chairs overlooking the pool, it was awesome. Only suggestion is to add a few more bottle openers to the kitchn utensils list for the best Hawaian IPA's! It was a fully stocked kitchen to begin with.
Counting the days until we return!!!!!
Our party was a total of 3 families -- 6 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies. We stayed in the main house, where there are 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths so we all had enough space not to step on one another's toes. The kitchen and laundry area were fabulous and the dining & living areas comfortable. We loved leaving the accordion doors open for the fresh air, although one must be vigilant with children, as there's no fence around the pool. The view from the backyard is gorgeous and the whole area is nicely secluded from neighbors. The house is in a development that is close to poipu beach, which is known to be kid-friendly. It is also close to the Grand Hyatt, which was nice to visit and see the amazing lobby. Also close to shopping centers, where we were quite fond of our daily dose of lapperts ice cream. For more heavy duty food shopping, would recommend stopping at the costco located near the airport before coming to this rental location. For fresh fruits, keep an eye out for fruit stands on the road...just don't try taking any back to mainland with you :-)
