What a nice surprise to be able to stay at this fine resort. Kind of hidden behind the other resorts and out of the way, but I think it was worth it. Stayed in a two bedroom condo that had a beautiful kitchen big living room, lanai that opened up to a great view of the bay. Bathrooms were huge, I loved the walk in rain shower. The check in and check out was smooth, no waiting and very hospitable. It was very quiet during our stay, we hardly heard or saw anyone else around. The housekeeping and grounds keeping were efficient and even left a checklist to let us know what they did while cleaning our room. We would definitely stay here again, and look forward to the chance to come back to beautiful Kauai.

Settled among a golf course made for well maintained and quiet grounds. The street curves through the golf course and is not a through street, so no traffic. The condo sets above the surrounding grounds Building are very well maintained.

We've stayed at Marriot Vacation Club resorts in the past, although we are not members, we stay like they are hotels, meaning we request cleaning service each day. While on our Hawaiian vacation, we choose to stay on Kauai for some relaxation as opposed to the hustle and bustle of our other destinations at Waikiki Beach and Maui. This Marriot resort is the perfect place to break away from big hotel all-inclusive expensive restaurants resorts.
Check in was easy, and in fact when we arrived we found that the room we reserved was unavailable and received a free upgrade to a larger unit. Cannot beat that. Plenty of parking at each building. The unit was beautifully furnished with a wonderful terrace overlooking the water and the mountains. Yes, there is some construction going on in the distance that impedes a perfect view of the mountains. But by no means should you let that stop you as the slightly imperfect view is still amazing and beautiful. I hope the pictures of the view from our room that I uploaded explains this better than words.
The pool is small but two-tiered and beautiful with a slide built in that is good for little kids, but my wife went through as well - the pool is a great place to relax. We did so in the evening after spending the day at a beach, and the pool was a great place to unwind. There are gas grills on the grounds to cook, but bring your own grill brush to clean them.
The condos are 15 minutes from the airport, very convenient. Also, 10-12 minutes drive to a nicely stocked Safeway and a Costco so it is easy to fill the full kitchen with food for your stay. We saw but did not go into a Walmart. There is a McDonalds and Subway within a short drive as well.
In the kitchen a microwave and toaster are included, as is a dishwasher (with dw detergent), and all sorts of pots and pans and strainers and plates, bowls and silverware. A sponge, paper towels and dishwashing liquid were also provided. Our unit had a big dining table that could easily seat 8 plus a few chairs to sit at the center counter. Each bedroom is well appointed and comfortable with good room darkening curtains if you want to sleep in. TVs in the living room and each bedroom. The bathrooms are clean with plenty of towels and tissues, and each closet had 4 "beach/pool" towels for your day. A full size washer and dryer were perfect for us, as we stayed here in the middle portion of our trip and washed our clothes and bathing suits so we only had to bring half the amount of clothes. A laundry basket and some Tide were available. If you have someone who needs "free" detergent, you will have to provide your own, as well as your own bleach. There isn't much food available on site - a little area by the check in desk with some snacks and drinks and alcohol. We did not partake in any of the hotel amenities as we didn't feel it was convenient or even "nearby", and seemed to be a separate entity even though on the same grounds. There is a shuttle that runs between the hotel and the condos. And yes, we did see a cruise ship leaving one evening while we were relaxing at the pool. Finally, when we checked into our room we saw a small area on the kitchen counter with tiny ants. We called and this was taken care of immediately and wasn't a problem again for the rest of our stay.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again. The staff was very responsive and friendly. A beautiful relaxing place.

Room tip: ask to look out at the pool. We stayed in building B which is not the building with the pool, but it was only a short walk.

Once again Marriott check in can be ridiculous. While I own over 4 weeks of Marriott time share this place seems to want to stick it to me every time. As soon as I called Marriott Vacation Club, go figure, my room became available. It was right on the pool, up high and centrally located. Wished it didn't take so much effort. It was nice to see the staff eat crow from the higher ups after how we were treated. This place has parking right out front. Becomes crowded at night. It does not have a restaurant. It has plenty of barbecues and I highly recommend grilling up with the view. It has one of the best views on the planet! The pool is nice, not to big. It has a slide best for little ones. It is right on the golf course. Some of your view is taking up by the new hotel being built and the lots which are for sale. The rooms are very nice, modern, wifi with full kitchen and laundry.

Room tip: Lots to choose, but know if you like pool or end units and request them.

Family of 7 stayed at the beautiful Kauai Lagoons in July and it was great. It's a quiet and relaxing place. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are great and never crowded. They offer a shuttle bus to access the beach at the Marriott hotel down the street, But you are not allowed in their pools only beach access. I recommend a rental car to get around the island. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Get the free Starbucks coffee by the lobby in the morning. The only minor issue was getting a comfortable temperature in the 3rd bedroom, because the thermostat is located in the main living area. We had to lower the temp down to 67 in order to get the 3rd bedroom comfortable. That 3rd bedroom is so far from the rest that it should have its thermostat. But that was a minor issue and I would definitely return to the Kauai Lagoons.
