“A nice walk and excellent view..good whale sighting”

We spent a few hours here...just staring out to sea...watching whale spouts and birds..it was so relaxing and the view is fantastic...the lighthouse is interesting but average fair...however you need to know that this more about habitat preservation for rare birds and for providing nesting sights than it is for historical preservation....I couldn't believe how many people didn't pay the $5 to get in...this is for helping the planet...kind of sad....it is worth to go see the cliffs and the views and to help the Refuge....
It appeared to us that the volunteers have golf carts to help drive people challenges to viewing sites...everyone was very friendly and helpful....we learned quite a bit...unexpected perk!

We went early one morning hoping to see the sun rise from the lighthouse point. We found that you can reach the edge of the refuge but you can't drive out to the lighthouse point until 10 AM as the gates are locked. There isn't a sunset to see if you are just standing at the edge of the wildlife refuge, but you will see tons of birds! The birds are very active in the morning and it is nice to enjoy them in the calm of the sunrise.

Crystal clear water, great for bird, dolphin and whale watching. Binoculars provided free of charge, great volunteers to educate you on the history of the lighthouse and its natural habitat.

Our 14 month old loved watching the birds at the lighthouse. Beautiful coastline views, we even could see a few whales.

Postcard perfect view, easy to visit on your way to Princeville. You can enjoy the lighthouse view for free if you do not want to pay the admission to the refuge.
