My wife and I returned to Hawaii 25 years after our being there for our honeymoon. We enjoyed this hotel but payed for a beachfront room which we were given. However, our room was on the second floor and there was a large tree in front of our room so we actually could not see the beach directly in front of our room. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

This is one of the best finds in Kauai. This is not s regular Courtyard. Its moderately priced and It’s located on the island east coast on a beautiful beach. It offers free bicycles to hotel guest, free beach chairs and umbrella that you may take with you to other beaches on the island. The location is perfect and across the street from a shopping center and food stores. We highly recommend this hotel. For couples or families. The sunrise on the beach is worth the whole stay. The staff is courteous and accommodating. Thus is the spot to stay in Kauai. Wish we can give it 10 star rating.

I did not have a good experience at this hotel and won't be staying there again. 3 mornings in a row the fire alarms went off twice between 7 and 830 am. There was no fire at all. When you arrive to "paradise" after such a long flight, no one wants to be woken up repeatedly with the sound of screaming alarms and rushing to the hotel lobby, to find out it was a false alarm.

We had to get our keys reprogrammed multiple times and had maintenance change the locks once and reprogram them as well, twice. So imagine coming home after being on the island all day and not being able to get into your room. Walking back and forth to the front desk because the keys they programmed didn't work. This happened 3 nights in a row.

There is a security individual there named Clayton who would harass customers for being in the hot tub after dark, he then turned the sprinklers on several occasions. to try to get people to leave the pool area. The only time the sprinklers came on was when this guy was working. Over the course of a week we met all the employees and this guy seemed to have a particular problem, or chip on his shoulder and really made the whole evening experience at this hotel miserable.

The rain gutters after walking through the lobby to the pool are clogged, or broken and when it rained, spilled all the water from the roof and from the wind, would blow into the walk area. workers were constantly mopping up the water to prevent slip hazards.

the railing for the patios on the 2,3,4th floors are loose and broken, almost everyone of them. One of the members of our group almost fell from the 4th floor when he was on his patio and leaned up against the railing.

We had a corporate rate for our stay here and when several members of our group checked out, they were charged the regular rate and had to argue to the point of calling corporate to get the matter settled.

No I will never stay at this hotel again when visiting this island and will encourage all to avoid this place as well.

We booked this hotel through Costco, they had a great deal on this hotel and it did NOT disappoint! We had a room on the 4th (top floor) with a great view of the pool area and the beach! The room was very clean, spacious, and the vaulted ceilings made it feel very open and luxe. We really loved the lanai and the very comfortable bed! We spent the evenings in the large hot tub and pool area, they hooked us up with beach chairs and umbrellas to take with us to any beach. We would definitely stay here again. I loved that it is central to both the north end of the island and the south end. I never felt like we were too far away from anything. We didn't try any food on site but it all looked great. Loved it! Stay here!

Room tip: top floors have great views, vaulted ceilings

I usually stay at Poipu Sheraton but I thought to try this hotel as Costco had a special deal and it was Marriott. I am giving a three because of the friendly staff at the hotel.

Positives: friendly staff and close proximity to discount stores and shopping center. We had an ocean view room and the view was really nice. Also fire lit torches at night time was pretty. They had nightly music entertainment at the bar and they were enjoyable.

Negatives: hotel room is rather small and has an odd shape: the room is rectangle but one corner is cut to make a triangle lanai space. Lanai is very very tiny and only had two lawn chairs....no table. I do understand that hotel is trying to give you an island ambiance by having wooden window shutters as window covering but they made the room dark and restricted the nice ocean view.

Room keeping is sloppy. One night during our stay, it rained so hard that our lanai was flooded and the water came into the room and soaked our carpet. I told the house keeper about it but she did not do anything. so the carpet stayed wet through out our stay. The house keeper left our used drinking glasses rather than replacing them with clean ones. They did not leave clean wash cloth either.....just left the two used ones. I do understand reusing bath towels and hand towels but I have never ever stayed at a hotel where they did not leave clean drinking glasses and wash cloth daily.

This is very small thing but it bothered me: You were only allowed to check out two beach towels per couple. We asked if we can have two more but was told no.

Their bar has Happy hour from 3 to 6 but very limited menu items. Beer and well drinks are around $5-6. Only two cocktails, Maitai $8 and Pinacolada around $6. Limited food items for the happy hour. None very appearing.

I can keep going on about negatives but I think you got the picture. It is not a bad hotel and we did enjoy our stay. I hope they can improve their housekeeping a bit more
