Stayed here 4 nights recently. We really like this property. It's beautiful and the staff was nice. The pools are nice and were not crowded during our stay. The beach is really nice and nobody was out while we were there, so it felt like a private beach. You can hike along the beachfront past some beautiful houses to the Hilton property and the path continues on their property and you can gawk at their lagoons, dolphins, etc. The Marriott is a nice-sized property and has the former royal fishing ponds with lava rock. There's also a short walk nearby with petroglyphs. The Marriott is right across the street from the Kings Shops, which is a nice outdoor mall with shops and restaurants and a block away is the Queens Shops, so you have many options for dining, shopping without having to drive. Go to Sansei on Sun or Mon happy hour! While the $25/nt daily resort fee seems steep, we got a decent nightly rate so it balanced out. Resort fee includes free parking and wifi. There was a delicious-looking breakfast buffet for 21pp, but we didn't get around to trying it. They also offered to extend your checkout til 8pm for $99, which we did and so got to enjoy a full day of sightseeing without worrying about storing bags or showers. We would definitely stay here again.

A few complaints about this resort, nothing major but annoying. First off we had a King sized bed in a room that was probably designed for a Queen bed. I was the lucky one who got to sleep on the wall side and I could literally reach out and very easily touch the wall without much effort when lying down. It was awkward getting in and out of the bed because of the close proximity of said wall. Secondly, we couldn't quite get the air conditioning cool enough. Thirdly, taking a HOT shower didn't happen once during our weeks stay.

We did however like the resort property and the fact that the Infinity pool is open 24/7.

We stayed here in January to beat the winter dull drums in Colorado. The property was clean and very well appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got a room with a partial ocean view that looked out at the pool area and were lucky enough to get to watch the luau dancers from our balcony! The buffet dinner was nice, but very small for the price.-would suggest going into Kona to the King Kamehameha Hotel for theirs! The location was great- with the bay and we walked for miles across the lava to some secluded little areas to fish. Along our way we came upon numerous sea turtles out sunning themselves in the sand--at that was it--no one else! Our very idea of paradise!

Room Tip: Ask for the ones that face out toward the pool on the sides--great view of the pool area, a little b...

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay here a few years back. It is our favorite spot even now. No other vacation has compared to the one when we stayed at this resort. They even have medical facilities because I had the flu when I arrived and they took care of me.

Room Tip: Take advantage of breakfast buffet. Won't need to eat until dinner. If staying in Jan or Feb g...

Got an upgraded room because of gold status. Won’t happen next year because they are taking that away, but that is another story.

Property was older but in good shape. They have their own beach and pool area. Not a lot of shade in the lava fields.

Staff was very friendly and took care of you.

This hotel is 18 miles from the airport and longer to Kona and places further away, DUHHH.

It was nice but too remote for me. If you just want to hang at the resort, play golf and shop (they have a nice complex) stay there. If you want to go to Kona or other places to visit your friends you have not seen for awhile stay in Kona or near there.
