I was impressed by the personal greeting and many amenities there. It was small and quiet yet close to Volcano and reasonably priced. They served a very nice breakfast with wonderful coffee and juices. The rooms were large clean and comfortable.

My husband and I enjoyed a 2 night stay. We wanted a place close to Volcano NP. This was the best place. Dan was quiet but friendly, answered all our questions about the park and nearby restaurants and had menus to view. There were travel guides and information about the Park available. Internet was available.
The rooms were spacious and immaculately clean with large windows to view the beautiful rainforest ferns, plants, and birds. Each room has its own bathroom, refrigerator, lani, and television with comfortable bed(s). Breakfast was delicious and filling was served each morning. Huge pancakes and plenty of fresh local fruits. Juice, coffee, tea, water, milk were available. Our stay here was within 5 minutes time to Volcano Nat'l Park, a short drive to black sand beach, turtles, green sand beach, and the southern most town, bakery, and bar. We enjoyed our stay and will return to Volcano Forest Inn for another stay. We had no problem finding Volcano Forest Inn with the signs and light at the entrance. GPS also located it. We hope you'll enjoy a stay here as much as we did.

Recently spent 4 nights at the Volcano Forest Inn. This is a small and cozy lodging. situated in the midst of a tropical rain forest. The rooms are spacious, clean and reasonably priced. Watch Hawaiian pheasants and other bird life as you relax on the lanai (porch). Bask in the tranquility and plan your visit to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, just 15 minutes up the road. The Inn is neither luxurious nor pretentious, just calm, cozy and welcoming. We really enjoyed staying here.

Good location close to the Volcano National Forest. Surrounded by beautiful, lush tropical gardens. It was quiet and clean and each room had a nice patio area. However, the bed was terribly uncomfortable and we barely slept a wink - seemed like the bed and bedding was 30 years old, not at all comfortable. Breakfast was not great, not particularly tasty and no protein - a large pancake, half apple, half orange, and a slice of banana bread. B&B's usually have a better breakfast. Overall ok, not the worst place to stay but not great...glad it wasn't priced higher ($160 plus taxes).

Dan was a great host, nice quite place right by the national park for all you hikers out there. They provide breakfast in the AM and allowed us to cook our own since we have e dietary restrictions. They had got tea available 24/7. Thought that was a nice touch. Small fridges in the rooms.
