My husband and I usually stay in Kona when visiting the Big Island, but decided to stay a couple days on this side, and we are SO GLAD we did! The Bali Cottage was a unique and romantic place. The pitched roof, wooden interior, Asian furniture, decor, and incredible views all blended together to create a sense of zen-like serenity. We enjoyed the ocean views from the balcony as well as the coastline views from the bed. Drifting to sleep with the sounds of the local wildlife (yes, even the croqui frogs!) and the ocean waves was like being in a tropical jungle. We slept more soundly there than we have in years.
We were also delighted to find great snorkeling at Kapoho Wai'Opae ponds and a volcanically heated natural pool at Ahalanui only twenty minutes away by car. We had a good time splashing in the waves at Kahena Beach across the street and watched quite a few people swim with a pod of dolphins there. The owners recommended we eat at Kaleo's in Pahoa and we loved it, especially the seafood curry dish.
Our stay at the Bali Cottage will remain in our hearts forever, and the memory will calm our busy minds as we return to our familiar routine back home.
My Husband and I traveled to The Bali House and Bali Cottage at Kehena Beach Hawaii for our 1 year anniversary and we were very pleased with everything the cottage had to offer. Perfect Romantic getaway. The Cottage was so romantically done that it was the perfect setting for us. I would recommend The Bali House and Bali Cottage at Kehena beach for any one who is wanting to celebrate there love or rekindle there love. I loved the cottage so much my husband and i are already planning our second trip.

The cottage is quaint, beautifully appointed and quiet. The owner was very helpful and remained on the property until I could figure out how to get there from Pahoa! Nice folks! There are some beaches I wish I'd been brave enough to swim from but the current deterred me. It's a good location for exploring Volcano Park but go during the week, go up early and plan on the whole day up there, especially if you take the road to the sea! While it is off the beaten track, I'd recommend it without hesitation.
Tucked away near the spectacular Kehena Beach in Pahoha, the Bali Cottage is a sacred space to romance your sweetheart, yourself or Hawaii. Adorned in exotic Eastern and Hawaiin decor, this two story cabin-like space has a kitchen, dining and meditation area downstairs and a bedroom suite upstairs with a ocean view terrace and a bathroom with a large shower. The black, gold, and creme colors, flowing drapes and beautiful sacred art fill this home with love. A hot tub and a two-person hammock sits amid a lush tropical garden full of gardenia, papaya and pineapple, a lovely way to enjoy the waves, stars and musical Coqui frogs. From here, it's easy to get to Akaka Falls, Volcano National Park and the beautiful beaches the line the coast. I was blessed to have spent 10 days at the Bali Cottage, Mahalo to the owners for their kindness and feel a greater sense of love for myself and the beautiful islands of Hawaii. Aloha
