My review of negatives is huge. Best part is loving everything outside of it.
•Washing machine, no dryer— borrowed covered clothes line of owner only. No microwave.
•Rental is cramp, not spacious, for being a converted garage or in-law apartment.
•Bedding is old and smells old.
•Screen door on sliding glass door has come apart all the way around and needed duct tape to seal it off from cockroaches, and even a slug.
•Beach towels and tatami mats should be replaced. Starting to unravel.
•Old refrigerator was dirty on the outside, with previous outdated tenant food, and should be replaced.
•Owner should refresh the bathroom with all new toiletries, and remove partially used of others.

Very nice place with a kitchen that has cook top, toaster oven, full size fridge, coffee maker (no microwave/dishwasher. It has a dining area with sliders out to your own private garden entrance. Kitchen has lots of dishes and pans. R.Barrie gave us some fresh fruit. Bathroom is big, linens are supplied, and there is a stackable washer/dryer and an outdoor clothesline. Sitting area, TV, and lofted bed. Would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues as the driveway is a steep incline and the apartment is multi level. This is a beautiful space and very centrally located in Waimea. It is very clean and has been well maintained. We messaged R. Barrie one morning because the cooktop ran out of gas and someone was there right away. You are 15-20 minutes from the nearest beach, but within 25 minutes of several very nice beaches. You are close to Muana Kea, Hilo, and Kona and a few hours from Volcano National Park. This is at about 2,000' I would guess. Temperature and climate are refreshing, can get cool some evenings but no air conditioner is needed. We saw several rainbows driving up/down from the beach.
