Great place to go to Waipio from. Also great coastal views from the yard. Had everything we needed for a couple of days (no TV but no complaints on that). Close’ish to Honokaa which is a super small (and quaint) town so keep in mind that businesses close early (and/or for a few hours during the day). Waimea is about 30min away and has more services if needed.
We arrived later at night so the studio was more difficult to find than expected, we likely irritated the neighbors from driving back and forth trying to find the right house numbers which aren’t viewable on the mailbox when coming from the direction of Honokaa. Keys weren’t in the lock box as expected but sliding door was open and keys were on the table. Smoke detector’s low battery beep went off in the locked room next door all night the first night but after contacting the owner the next day she was great to talk with and very quickly sent someone to fix it and they also brought fresh fruit from the farm which was yummy. Fresh flowers accented the studio to cheer it up which was nice. Lots of ants inside if you leave anything food related out (mentioned in the guest Info book and expected for the area) and quite a few cockroaches inside with a ton of spiders outside (very rural area, close to a farm so not totally unexpected).
Overall we had a good stay and some good breakfast at long soup corner (gramma’s kitchen) along with good pizza with a great dough at Cafe Il mondo.
