“THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING!”

Aloha! I went to the Big Island in May 2016 to do some research on an area called Kukuiha'a in South Kona. I had found a studio in Honaunau A PLACE IN PARADISE to stay for 3 days. It was truly the perfect place! It was clean, well stocked kitchen and refrigerator, full bath with plenty of fresh towels, queen bed, majestic views, and GORGEOUS sunsets!
Honestly, it was a magical 3 days and I cannot wait to go back to the Big Island to do more research and stay at A Place in Paradise! Mahalo nui loa, Linda and Earl!!!

“Great view!”

Lovely little studio with great views of the Pacific Ocean and sunset. Quiet and remote, perfect if you like to get away from the tourist areas. Owners were pleasant and helpful, it was great to have a fridge stocked with drinks when we arrived.

There are no windows just screens, which allows you to fall asleep listening to the frogs and nature noises, but there is not way of shutting out the sound if it annoys you. Just a short stroll to visit the painted church, and a quick drive to beaches and snorkelling spots. A further drive to town, shops and restaurants.

Overall, a great place to relax and rejuvenate for our last days on big island!

“Great location and hosts”

We stayed at "A place in paradise" for four days in Dec. and it was perfect. Earl and Linda will do everything to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They provided fresh fruits everyday and had a bunch of water sodas and snacks in the unit for you. The house is in the country but close to everything. Earl showed us a couple of his favorite places and as it turns out were some of ours as well. The unit was just as described and had everything we needed to make meals. As stated it is out in the country and you do hear roosters and cows and birds through out the day and night. There are no windows, just a screen so there is no way to drown out the sound, but that didn't bother us at all. The location was great we were close to the Volcano Park about 1 hour 40 min also close to Kona about 45min and about 2 hours from the NE shore for amazing views. If you are looking for a great place to stay that is located in the middle of all the action but still off the beaten path this is the place. Thanks Earl and Linda for the amazing stay.

Complimentary fresh fruit every day and many drinks and snacks in the studio

“The place to be!”
Reviewed 30 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

The hosts, Linda and Earl, were fantastic. We arrived pretty late, and it was very dark, but there Earl was ... waving his flashlight in the street so that we could find the driveway. So, if you can't find the place, just give them a call.

Place in Paradise is a studio that is equipped with things you need. The hosts provide beach chairs, beach towels, kitchen amenities (e.g. coffee machine, microwave, pot & pans, toaster, utensils, zip lock bags, etc), which means you can cook and save money on your trip. Word of advice: Do not leave food out on the counter because there are ants (they are everywhere on the island, not just here). Make sure everything goes in the fridge. Other than kitchen amenities, plenty of fresh towels are provided prior to your stay, a first-aid kit in the cabinet, and lots of snacks/juice/bottled water you can have for free. On top of all this, the place is clean and very new.

If you are looking for a quiet place, far from mass tourism, this is the place to be. The sound of crickets, birds, and ocean waves are waiting for you! It was a great experience, and we wish we could visit again. Aloha!

ps. Did you know that this is also a small coffee farm? So cool :)
