I volunteer at a native bird rescue (including raptors) in California and was interested in seeing the program here. It was fantastic. Terrific presentation of a number of raptors, flying and perching, with lots of information given in an entertaining format. Quite an experience!

We had an excellent time at the center and learned a great deal about raptors. It was thrilling to see the birds up close. The staff are very committed to their mission and dedicated to the health and well-being of these birds. I highly recommend this for people of all ages. The program is outdoors under a tent, so bring a jacket. It's also a good idea to make a reservation through their website.

This was one of those WOW moments. We were not expecting to see this display or educational show of raptors. This is a not for profit organisation who take in hurt, damaged or unwanted pet raptors. They are then assessed, given the best care and where possible, returned to the wild. We discovered, that this tiny recovery centre is responsible for returning more raptors to the wild than any other in the USA, a mighty record. However, there are some birds who are so badly impaired, poor sight, poor hearing or simply a scrambled brain, that makes them unable to survive in the wild. These are kept and assist the staff in educating people, like us, visitors, who come to watch the great show they give, using the birds who will not go back to the wild as educators.
I would really recommend this centre, they need as much help as we can give them. They have souvenirs and clothing to buy to support their effort. So far they have been able to purchase a great bit of land for the centre and are now in the process of raising funds to build suitable housing for their birds and hospital.
It's important to know that all birds that can be rehabilitated are never tamed. They are released as soon as their wounds are better, or they have fully fledged if they'd been brought to the centre after failing to stay in their nests.
You'll see golden eagles, owls and peregrine falcons at the least.

We stopped at the Raptor Center on our vacation to Jackson Hole. Luckily we were there for an excellent presentation. It lasted about one hour, but it went fast. We saw four different rescue birds. Very informative and fun to see the birds up close. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.
