“nice little campground and picnic area”

Reviewed 30 March 2015

This is a nice little stop for a night or afternoon picnic. Filled with huge cottonwood trees providing plenty of shade and a smaller playground. They have horseshoe pits and picnic tables in the picnic area. Really nice campground that is never full so provides a nice relaxing stay. The river winds around the campground and has a couple of nice swimming holes and good fishing as well.

As a battlefield, it's not much. As a city park, it's quite a nice location by the river. The Arapaho chose this location for their village, before they were attacked by Connor and his troops. There are a couple of large signs which do a good job of describing the battle and the background. The location is just a mile or so from I-90.
