The show is really poor and presented by people who are not talented in any way. Too much advertising before show. There are many good options that are missed like the Dan Miller show or The Cody Cattle Company shows which are done by professional performers.

My wife and I joined two other couples for drinks at the touristy gunfight outside the Irma Hotel on 9/17. While corny, it was entertaining and all six of us are glad we saw it once. We bought chairs for $2 each so we would be close and see the action up close. The free gunfights occur Monday through Saturday nights (June 1 thru Sept 30) from 6 pm to about 6:30 pm in the street in downtown Cody. If you arrive early, you can often get a free seat on the rock wall or the surrounding picnic tables.

This show is set up on a side street just a short way from the "main drag". The seats are set up so that the only seats you can stand behind are on the sides. The rows of seats go back to sit up against the building that has a restaurant there with tables on a sort of open porch. The restaurant customers don't have to pay the $2, but not sure what the restaurant serves, or it you can hear from there. All the show seats are $2. I'm not sure what the $2 goes for since they spend 20 minutes at the first of the "show" with advertisements for their "sponsors". The sound system is terrible unless you sit in the center. We couldn't hear half of what was said and the noise from the street traffic made it hard to hear anything. The acting was awful, the script amateurish, the whole thing was a waste of time. The parking is on the street only. After about 35 minutes we left. The family by us left before us. In looking back, I wish we'd spent the time in some of the shops on the main street, this street show was a total waste.

We were walking downtown Cody so decided to stick around to watch this at the Irma Hotel. There were a lot of "advertisements" for local sponsors at the beginning but then the show started. It was free unless you want to rent a chair. We didn't rent one and my teenage boys thought it was pretty boring so we left before it was done. It does make you think about what the western towns used to be like!

Not what we were expecting. There was a lot of talking and very little action. However the sound system was very poor. So we sat there for 20 minutes listening to some gentleman talking, but we could only hear every 4th word, punctuated by regular feedback squeals. Most of what he was saying seemed to be plugging local sponsors. Finally the actual performance begun, but it was pretty corny and my 11 year got bored, so we left before the end.
