“Relaxation and hand on experience”

Wisconsin Deer Park

Strolling past the extra large statuary (ok go and take a bunch of fun tacky pictures next to them), you come upon the 3 little pigs and then the goat enclosure. Next you see the emu and then the entrance to the deer park. We bought the official crackers because you just gotta get mugged by deer at some point. There are several different species that you have to enjoy. Lots of does and fawn who you have to learn to be patient for some of them to choose to approach you.
These are prey animals and the fact that they have chosen to trust us predators. People watching was also interesting to observe those who aren't familiar with animals as if it isn't on a computer they may not know how to react. The speakers around the park play easy listening 60's music most likely to keep the deer calm around all the squeaks and noises that the humans make.
My husband and I very much enjoyed the quiet peaceful visit and would recommend it for those who can relax and enjoy nature.

We thought admission to the deer park was too much. Also there were not many deer that would be close to people. We thought the deer would be more tame and easier to feed, but no. We did spend a few hours at the deer park, since the kid was enjoying it. It was OK, but we probably won't go back again. I loved the alligator attraction, basically across the street, much better and it didn't cost as much (although we didn't spend as much time with the alligators as we did at the deer park).

I visited the Deer Park with my kids who are 18 and 20 years old, and we had a blast. We've always been animal and nature lovers, but my son (20) was skeptical of having fun... he figured it was just a big petting zoo. He was so wrong, and he had so much fun. We fed dozens of deer at LEAST, including a wide variety of them which can't be found here in the U.S. normally. We even got some of the big bucks to come over for a snack, as well as a number of fawns that were still getting used to trusting humans. The whole experience was wonderful, and will be a must-visit on ALL future trips to the Dells.

My family and I love the deer park. We go there every time we are in the dells. The deer are so gentle and come right up to you to be fed. It is one of the original attractions still remaining today. With all the greed that has become the dells by the owners of the waterparks trying to outdo each other, this a welcome novelty attraction.

We took our Granddaughter here and loved it. Walk amongst the deer, pet them and feed them. We had no idea this park was so big, and it would be such a "hands on" adventure!"
