Thank you for the wonderful review, sorry it took so long to respond, It was a true delight to have you here at Bowman's Oak Hill B&B. We look forward to having you come again.
Your Hosts: Russ & Laurie
We stayed in Aunt Geri's Cottage for 3 nights. It was wonderful-quiet,cozy, clean, and comfortable! We enjoyed sitting on the porch relaxing after touring the area around the Dells on our motorcycle. Laurie and Russ are very kind and friendly innkeepers seeking to make each experience the best. They know the area and can recommend restaurants and activities for, their guests. Best of all were the breakfasts prepared each morning and served in the main house by Laurie. She is an excellent cook and the food was amazing. She served so much delicious food, we didn't eat again till evening. We enjoyed visiting with the innkeepers and sharing stories with them. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Wisconsin Dells area.
You two are so kind. It was a real pleasure spending time with the two of you. Hope to be able to see you again soon.

Bowman's is located on the edge of the Dells, away from the noise and confusion of the main roads through town but a short drive from restaurants and attractions. It is built on a large wooded property far enough back from the highway that traffic noise is not an issue and there was also plenty of room for our motorcycle trailer. Laurie and Russ are gracious hosts and Laurie's breakfasts alone are worth the trip.
We stayed in Aunt Geri's Cottage. It was like being at home. A very clean, spacious room with a large comfortable bed and a porch for sitting and relaxing after a day on the run. We stay in B&B's when we travel and this is one of the very best. I highly recommend staying in one of the cabins.
Thank you so much for your review. It is people like you that make our job so enjoyable. We had a great time meeting with you. Thank you so much for choosing to stay at Bowman's Oak Hill. We look forward to visiting with you again in the future. Your Hosts Russ & Laurie
We stayed two nights in the main house, very clean and had everything we needed. Enjoyed the covered deck out back for morning coffee and playing cards at night. Laurie is an amazing cook all homemade dishes using fresh veggies & fruits from her garden. The food presentation was like a 5 star hotel or better! You will never go hungry an abundant of food was prepared I felt bad as I could not finish it all. Russ & Laurie are very nice people enjoyed our conversations. Would highly recommend!
We truly enjoyed your visit with us! Your smiles, expressions of gratitude and enjoyment of the B & B blessed us beyond words. Thank you so much for the kind review; we are so thankful that we were able to make your stay a pleasant one. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
With kind regards,
Russ and Laurie
If your in the Wisconsin Dells area make this your overnight stay location! Outstanding accommodations and the breakfast Laurie cooks is 5 star quality! Very easy to find and within short driving distance of all the area's attractions!
Thank you very much for taking time to post such a wonderful review, John! It was fun hosting you, Cindy, Jim and Lisa. We enjoyed our visits with you tremendously and look forward to a future return visit. So glad that you enjoyed the breakfasts too. It is grand to cook for guests who appreciate the time and effort put into the preparation.
With kind regards,
Russ and Laurie
My significant other made reservations at Bowman's Oak Hill B&B for our anniversary a few days prior to us arriving. She showed me pictures of the rooms online and they looked nice. On the date of our reservation we drove to the B&B and arrived around 8:30 p.m. We almost said in unison, "its a 1970's house!" We do not care for this style at all and the online pictures do not represent this fact. despite our disappointment, it was late and decided to give it a try anyway. The B&B internet/computer system was down so the manager was trying to sign us in on his phone and was getting irate with it. Finally after a half hour he got my bank card info in his phone and showed us to our room. We did not get much sleep that night. The bed was so hard Fred Flintstone would have had trouble sleeping on it. The next morning we expressed our experience and disappointment to the manager and informed him we would not being staying the second night. He apologized and said he will see what he could do about a refund. We left before breakfast and went to a B&B that we were familiar with and had an enjoyable weekend from there. A month later I get my bank statement and see that a refund was not submitted ( I heard nothing from the B&B during this time). I called the manager to enquire about it and he told me that a refund is not possible if a cancellation is made within fourteen days of the reservation. This was not a cancellation of a reservation before arriving. This was a case of the B&B misrepresenting the facility (not stating that its a 1970's home), uncomfortable bed, and a manager that gets agitated easily. Again management, I am requesting a refund for a breakfast we did not partake of and a night that we did not spend there.
Thank you for taking time to review your experience. We are so sorry that you were disappointed in our property. In regards to your statement that our property is misrepresented, our web site does state in the Welcome paragraph on the home page that it is a "60's Ranch".
The photo of the front of the house that is included in the 4 photo slide show at the top of the Welcome paragraph shows it clearly isn't a Victorian. Bed and Breakfast structures are everything from newly built to victorians and other types of repurposed buildings.
I'm sorry you didn't contact our managing partners with the contact information they provided for you at checkin, as soon as you realized you didn't like the therapeutically firm mattress on the bed in the room you booked. Fortunatly they had one remaining available room they would have been happy to move you to that has a softer mattress. We work hard to provide quality and comfort.
Some of our guests have returned many times to the very room you booked and say it is the best nights sleep they have ever had. We realize that mattress type preferences are totally individual.
We were sorry to hear you missed the lovingly prepared breakfast that was about to be served when you checked out. Half the fun of going to a B&B is meeting the other wonderful guests and visiting with people who's path would not otherwise have crossed with yours. A full breakfast is included in your nightly room rate. It is not a separate line item.
The land line and Internet line had unfortunately been cut that morning by a cable company digging to install their lines therefore it was frustrating to have to figure out how to run your credit card in an unfamiliar way. We apologize for that circumstance and the inconvenience it caused you.
If you read other reviews you will clearly see Russ is not the "easily agitated" type. He and Laurie are very gracious hosts.
They were very pleased that your "significant other" said she "completely understood"our cancelation policy. We are all happy to hear you enjoyed the rest of your weekend celebrating her birthday.
I know we are not a "Victorian", can't change that, but do hope you will concider coming again and choosing a different room for your stay.
