My husband and I took a trip to The Door this past summer and stayed at Beach Harbor Resort. Our wallets definitely liked the price! :) We have always gone to a fish boil in Fish Creek; however this time, we chose to try the fish boil that is right at Beach Harbor. I'm very glad we made that choice! It was excellent! The outdoor atmosphere was great! Strangers quickly began chatting with each other around the fish boil and joined in on random games of volleyball and yard games that were provided by the motel/restaurant.
The motel itself was pretty dated and the air inside the motel felt humid. There were humidifiers going in the hallways to help with the humid/musty smell. I don't know if this was a one time problem or an ongoing problem for the motel. Even though the motel room smelled musty due to the humid feeling, the motel did make a cute attempt at decorating the room in a nautical theme.
Water that came out of the bathroom faucet smelled like rotten eggs, but after letting the water run for a few minutes, the smell went away.
Despite the outdated inside of the motel and the smelly water, we really enjoyed our experience at Beach Harbor and would stay here again :)

We stayed here as a recommendation from friends who traveled with there dog and thought this place was a nice location run by nice people. We're traveling with our dog too so we figured why not. People are nice enough, location is pretty but kind of far from the heart of Door County. Rooms are dated and cleanliness is questionable. The real issue is that our room (#5) lacked a screen door, lacked a chain lock or anything secure on the main door other than a standard knob lock, and also lacked any kind of lock to stop the adjoining room from entering. WHAT THE HECK? Fortunately, people aren't in there rooms often, but don't think we're returning.

The pictures are not what it is all about. Our room smelled so bad! Sheets looked like they were never changed. Holes in the blanket and stains all over the pillow. Backed up bathroom sink. It does NOT say pet friendly and there were dogs barking till 11:30 at night. Chair in the room was broken. Dust all over the baseboards and top of the bed frames it was horrible . Our first clue should have been all the dehumidifier running in the hall way with fans. The ice maker didn't even work. This place is NOT worth the money ..

Its location is its biggest strength. We could see the lake from the patio outside our room. There were plenty of chairs on the beach, as well as complimentary paddleboards, kayaks, and life jackets. The restaurant/bar has lots of outdoor seating. The first night, our room smelled like very strong detergent, as if it had just been shampooed. The second day, it smelled damp. (I've never stayed so close to the lake, so I don't know what is typical). The continental breakfast was disappointing. All in all, it had a very relaxed vibe.

I have stayed at Beach Harbor Resort about 4 times, and each stay has been very pleasant. Service is always fantastic and food is always great. You always can rent a paddleboard or a speedboat and you can always have a great afternoon filled with fun. A bar and restraunt are located next to the resort and is perfect for meals.
