We always tie this in with the lumberjack show and make a day of both. This place is a lot of fun, you can walk around amongst the animals. They have a great variety of things to check out. The staff is always nice, you can feed the animals, you can buy soda type thing and give it to the Bears, and feed giraffes. If I was going to get super picky, I would just say it would be nice to see a musky in the front pond every now and then. I think I saw one about 15 years ago there. But other than that, I love the place.

Bart was a smart, thoughtful guide. It was 3 degrees and he went out of his way to give us a private tour of the grounds.

We had a great couple of hours here learning about Wisconsin wildlife. Lots of great exhibits and live animals rehabilitating.

I am sad to say that although all the animals are in great condition, their exhibits are really quite inadequate for them.

There were bears on concrete floors with no enrichment, and also the opportunity to feed the bears which is very dangerous when unsupervised.

A lot of animals were exhibiting signs of stress - which can easily be combated by giving the animals different stimulus. The exhibits were all very basic and poorly kept.

The petting area was the worst thing I've seen in a zoo with animals crammed into tiny cages which were just about suitable for a chinchilla. The skunks were fighting and the American kestrel was terrified.

A Fleishman rabbit was placed on a high table with sand.. Noone to supervise the animal should something happen.. If it was to fall off it would have seriously injured itself.

With animals the saying is "if it can happen it will happen - so it's better to be safe than sorry" this is definitely not something that this zoo goes by.

The open areas were good but again there was no supervision by staff, the only nicely designed area was the bird of prey section.

Through the whole 3 hours spent there I saw 1 member of staff.
