The perfect quiet getaway if you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a few days. Great hosts and a very warm, cozy room with a fireplace and deep whirlpool that easily fits two. Couple that with a warm and inviting foyer, library and kitchen and you feel like you're in a live Norman Rockwell Christmas painting. Strongly recommend going with other couples due to Door County being a ghost town after the summer crowd has left. After a couple of days it can get boring.

We recently stayed at the Thorpe House Inn and Cottages to attend a progressive dinner. This was our first stay at the house, and we actually stayed in one of the cottages. The cottage was warm and comfortable, and the fireplace was perfect for a winter night. The owner was very gracious and accommodating and we would definately recommend this business to others visiting Door Co.

Room Tip: The two larger rooms in the inn look fabulous.

It was a perfect anniversary and a return from our honeymoon 15 years ago. Our cottage was very nice, warm and inviting, with all the amenities needed to have a relaxing visit. The beds were very comfortable and the staff extremly friendly and knowledgable. The weather was very warm for the middle of November. We truly enjoyed the fireplace and the view of the bay.

Don't be fooled by its plain white exterior. The Thorp House Inn is a top notch B & B tied to Fish Creek's early history and offering guests a comfortable, homey stay. Upon arriving for a one-night visit during a cold and rainy November weekend, we were warmly greeted by the new owner (Melanie) who was building a fire in the fireplace to take the damp chill out of the air. During a quick orientation, we were shown the front parlor/library and a snack area stocked with complimentary sodas, hot drink mixes and fresh cookies. Our room (Emma) was located at the end of the hall. It was a mix of antiques combined with a whirlpool, french doors, and a skylight. What I especially liked about the room was the fact that there was a small sitting area which allowed us to spread out with our belongings. The Thorp House Inn is conveniently located hillside, one block above the main street - close enough to walk to area restaurants even on a rainy night. Another plus is that Penninsula State Park is only a couple of blocks from Thorp House and offers miles of biking trails. Breakfast was served in the kitchen at a table long enough to accomodate all eight guests. Breakfast at the Thorp Inn consisted of simple fare - granola, muffins, hardboiled eggs, juice and coffee. As nice as our stay was on a cold, November day, I have to believe that visitors would be even more pleased with a visit during the summer.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Thorp House Inn the 2nd week of October. The weather was exceptionally warm for that time of the year so, we were able to enjoy the front porch in the early evenings to relax and enjoy our beautiful peaceful surroundings. The Innkeeper is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts, and the company of the other guests. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Peninsula State Park is very close also. Thorpe House Inn is a very charming Bed and Breakfast. We'll definitely stay there again.
