This immaculately kept cottage was just steps from the water, with the sound of the waves available through the generous windows to lull you to sleep and melt the stress away with your morning coffee. Within reach of all Door County has to offer, yet set away from everything, it felt like a place out of time. The wildlife, with deer and racoons, bunnies and a wide-variety of birds were wonderful visitors. My teen loved it so much she asked if we could move in! Truly a place to relax and de-stress, while being close enough to go for a wonderful dinner in Fish Creek or shopping. Thank you!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Toft's Point West. The house was perfect for 2 people with a very large kitchen and eating area that looked out on to the beautiful property. We spent our days hiking at Peninsula State Park, horseback riding at Kurtz Corral and just checking out all the shops. I would definitely recommend a visit to Al Johnson's Restaurant in Sister Bay where they are known for their Swedish food and goats that graze on the sod roof. Since I'm 50% Swede it was one of the highlights of my trip. We always looked forward to heading back to the house at the end of each day. The hummingbirds on the back porch, the deer in the front yard, the many types of birds, squirrels, chipmunks and a raccoon made just being at home a treat. If there was one thing that I would have changed about the house it would be that their were blinds on the windows. I totally understand not wanting to obstruct the views but I'm a bit of a "fraidy cat" and once it got dark out I would have preferred to be able to close the blinds. Other than that, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Trudy is great to work with and you can tell she and her husband take great pride in their little cottage by the lake.
