We were in the area for the fall color and stayed here because of the reviews on TA. Rooms were spacious and clean. We had a lake view room and enjoyed the scenery. TV's in the room are small but have a huge theater screen downstairs. Didn't have a chance to watch a movie but would make sure we did on any future visits.

Room tip: Ask for lake view room

Based on TA reviews of this hotel and others in Eagle River, we booked here for one night. We arrived in the dark so we couldn't really see what the establishment looked like. It's different from the official picture - older and in need of some exterior TLC. But the room was clean (except for a few places on the carpet) and spacious. The Hiawatha definitely has a rustic feel to it. The walls are VERY thin - we could hear our neighbors coming in and out of their room with ease (and their colorful conversation). Breakfast was quite sparse, but we didn't need much anyway. The owners are wonderful people and very kind.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a Upper Peninsula road trip that we took last week. The rates of the hotel were by far less than those in the close Minocqua area (which is very tourist-y) and the location was just perfect in Eagle River.

The room was very clean and we were conveniently located in a room close to the lobby so we could pull our car up right outside our room. The owners were very warm and friendly at check in (as well as their sweet Boxer, Basil)! The room was easily big enough for several air mattresses and had a pull-out futon, the rooms are HUGE!!

We spoke with the owners for awhile both dates that we stayed here and they were incredibly friendly. The second night that we stayed here, we used the downstairs home theater and it was just AWESOME! Make sure that you take advantage of their gigantic movie collection, the sound system is just out of this world!! Would definitely recommend, very clean and quiet!

We needed a place to stay coming out of Isle Royale National Park - we discovered this place on TA, and booked it. What a great choice. To start off, we were late arriving off the island and still had a 2+ hour drive. Calling ahead to advise that we were still coming - Scott was most gracious in advising that if he weren't still up, that he'd leave a key out for us. Getting turned around in the dark Wisconsin wild at night, don't help our arrival time. But Scott, and Basil, were waiting for us - quickly checking us in after 10 pm. Their hospitality and friendliness is off the charts! The parking area is spacious. The room was so spacious, as well. The room was very quiet, very clean and nicely appointed. Loved the wood grain accents in the main room, bathroom and the overhead beams. Plenty of room in the bath counter space as well. Shower pressure and temperature are very good. The bed was so comfortable - best night sleep we'd had in a week and we considered extending our trip to stay here another night. Not enough superlatives to describe the hosts and their property - other than if we return to the area - this is a sure stop for us. Bring your own hair dryer, if you need it.

Thank you for taking the time to review us! Your kind review speaks volumes about how great your family is,,,how many people are kind enough to call a hotel and let them know they are going to be late? Being a family owned business and having over 7000 guests during our busy summer months we do get a bit fatigued at the end of summer. Your great attitude and courtesy is what keeps us going. Basil adored you all also and she has a great sense of quality people. We do have hair dryers at the front desk for guest use available 24/7. Thanks again and hope to see you all in the future!

This is our second trip to Hiawatha Lodge. Scott was so friendly as always. The rooms are extra large and very clean. The view is awesome. We plan to come back again. We consider this a destination on our motorcycle trips.

Room tip: Make sure to get a room with a view of the water!
