Description: Typical restaurant that offers regional dishes from a generous supply chain of genuine and "Km 0" raw materials. Rewarded with flattering reviews from the press and by numerous national restaurant guides, but above all by affectionate customers, the Restaurant offers: • a variety of menus to discover and appreciate under the guidance of our chef • regional dishes from raw materials produced in the valley • Beppino Occelli's delicious cheeses full of flavour • a good selection of local and Langhe area wines Every days at midday is possbile to eat in the "formaggeria" and taste cheeses and other local dishes prepared fresh every days. In summer it's possible to eat also outdoors.

There are three little communes around the area, Valcasotto, Serra di Pamparato and Roburent that possess restaurants to cater for the hungry traveller. We had been on a 10km hike from Serra to Valcasotto and had decided to treat ourselves after the long walk.

I would go so far as to say Locanda del Mulino is a cut above the rest. This quaint little restaurant next to a water mill boasts some excellent cheese, well presented local dishes and some very decent wine. (I would recommend a left field Red - Ormeasco di Pornassio). Special mention to the butter at the beginning which was delicious!

We were very satisfied after the meal and enjoyed a very merry walk back to Serra. We will be back!

Sometimes you are blessed with a new discovery: a quaint little restaurant with guestrooms hidden in a remote alpine valley far from the madding crowds of Courmayeur, Cortina, St. Moritz and similar bling.
The restaurant is quite superb despite a limited choice of traditional dishes made with only the best quality products - meat, flours, cheeses, wines and everything else.
The ambiance is intimate and cosy with traditional furniture, an antique cooking range and kitchen tools made of copper. The staff is super kind and everything - including the bill - is more than worth a detour from the trendy routes.

Such a wonderful meal! We started with a lovely mix of appetizers, ranging from local baked bread covered with butter the village is famous for, locally made sausage, an apple carrot cheese walnut salad, and decadent honey and chestnut covered speck. Our main course was a heavenly fresh pasta made from locally grounded chestnut flour and local cheese sauce. For desert, we had a gorgeous gelato hazelnut dish.

Pamparato and Valcasotto advertise slow driving, slow living and slow food - and it is a beautiful relaxing place. Lovely for a walk; full of well-kept buildings and interesting architecture. Had lunch at the Locanda del Mulino - which has a real working water mill. There is a lift (so anyone can get to the restaurant and enjoy the warm, friendly room and the views). Food was first class, and service was unobtrusive, effective, and helpful. We had a great time. We will go back.
