We choose this B&B for a quick weekend getaway. Deb was a very gracious and friendly host and our room, the Congo River room, was very comfortable. The house is beautiful, right along the river. We are dog lovers so where very pleased with Wesley, the dog of the house. He has very good manners and is friendly without being a pest.

If you enjoy biking, I would highly recommend this B&B as the Fox River trail runs right along the river out behind the house. Bring your bikes and take a day trip on the trail and stay overnight.

To sum up this B&B, I would simply say it was beautiful and welcoming.

Room Tip: Only three rooms. Photos of them on the web site.

We recently spent a weekend at Joanne's for a Packers game and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The House was beautiful! It was spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the Pearl room which had an amazing bathroom with a great whirlpool tub and huge shower. It was a very romantic room, great for couples wanting some time alone. It was wonderful to wake up and look out the windows and see a view of nature all the way to the Fox river. We strolled through the whole property and enjoyed being in the fresh air and beautifully kept yard.
The breakfast was awesome. We got to know the other guest and every morning had breakfast together and enjoyed great conversation. It was like a family meal. Debbie is wonderful hostess and made us feel very comfortable. The food was delicious and ample -- my husband doesn't eat pork, so she made sure to accomadate his needs. I loved her chocolate chip bread pudding. I couldn't eat it all due all the other food on my plate, but it was excellent.
What we loved most was the people. Saturday night there was a gathering at the home and the wine started flowing and people got to know one another. Although we were strangers, we easily fell into conversation with Bill and Debbie, a few of their friends that were over, and the other guests that were staying at the B&B. I ended up going to bed at midnight, but my husband stayed up until almost 2am before calling it a night.
Debbie and Bill were the most thoughtful of hosts. Although the room only accomodated two people, the let us have a party of 3 and instead of having one of us on the floor, they opened up their private quarters to us so we could each have a bed. It was an extremely generous gesture and we greatly appreciated it. I loved my stay here and would recommend it to anyone. They had a sign that said, "Enter as guests, leave as friends." It was a very apt saying. I would love to be able to come back here should I ever find myself back in the Green Bay area.

We live just blocks from this beautiful old mansion. When we had a last minute change of plans (Church we booked 14 months in advance not available!) We tried to have our wedding ceremony here. Initially they were very nice, we panned to have the ceremony here. I had to cancel the first appt. due to a babysitter no-show but my groom tried to re-schedule. I had thought there was an agreement based on phone conversation to have the ceremony there... but when my groom made an error and scheduled the meeting on a day I would be out-of-town they were unwiling to forgive. I am stuck with invites stating this is the ceremony place and no actual place to be married. Proprietors were extremely rude to my husband-to-be and I now have no place for the ceremony. Poor panning? yes. Mistakes, yes! But no excuse for rudeness and total unforgivingness. We own a home just 5 or six blocks away but would never advise anyone stay at Joannes...unless you are perfect and meet their criteria for such.

This B&B is a beautiful, elegant home on the residential end of one of De Pere's main streets. (There’s no sign out front so look for the red brick mansion.)

We were there for our first trip to Wisconsin and hit the jackpot. Deb and Bill (the live-in owners) greeted us at the door, gave us a glass of wine and then joined us for a chat out on their back terrace as we watched the sun set over their large, beautiful lawn and the Fox River. What a view!

And the interior is just as nice, if not more so. Each room is well furnished and gorgeous. Upstairs, the three guest rooms are elegant. We stayed in the Pearl Room which has a large bathroom with a 7-foot long, double headed shower plus a big jacuzzi tub, double sinks (and a walk-in closet).

If you want to stretch your legs, you can cut through the back yard and stroll up the nice asphalt trail that runs along the river for miles in both directions. You can even rent a bicycle at a nearby shop.

The B&B is Deb’s “baby” and she is very hands-on with the guests and helpful with area travel advice and historical information. She makes a hearty protein breakfast (in addition to offering muffins and fruit) each morning. If there’s something you need and don’t see it, just ask Deb and she will provide it.

Bottom line - staying here is a rich experience I highly recommend. Well done, Deb and Bill!
