We stayed here for a week in June and had a great time.
The villa has everything you need and if not then Jason will sort it!
Quiet and relaxing location but only a short drive away from more livelier towns, beaches, restaurants and bars.
We would definitely recommend a stay here and are looking forward to going back in the near future!! (Again this year if possible )
The villa itself is much bigger than it looks on the pictures and has all the facilities you could need, it's a home from home. The BBQ is great if you're staying in for the night if you get a nice steak from the local butchers.
The location is set in a more of a locals town rather than a tourists resort but this gives you a more authentic look of Spain and the local bars are good measures and really cheap. A car is recommended if you want to see the beach in Mojacar which is really nice, there is also a Lidl quite close so you can get all the food in for the BBQ.
We did some horse riding whilst we were there which is just in the town Pueblo next to Mojacar so about a 45 minute drive, where a 1 hour hack is 25 euro, a lesson is about 15 for a one on on. It is owned by a really nice English couple with very nice horses, it's called Rancho Elysium and can be found on Facebook.
The local pub restaurant within walking distance is the Union Bar but the food isn't too great.
There is also a Chippy within walking distance which isn't too bad and has a bar at the back.
The best places we went to were in Mojacar called Kukis and Badgers Bar which both offered very nice breakfast and tea (Kukis on Friday do a massive Fish and chips well worth ordering) and the beer isn't flat!
Very nice place to stay, would definitely recommend and will be going again soon thanks.
The location is excellent, having a holiday with a young child 4 years old and 2 grandparents could have been a challenge. This villa ticks all the boxes, beaches within easy driving reach approx 25 mins away and plenty to see nearby. A visit to Mojácar is a must as well as a trip to chiringutio los cocedores. We could have stayed for a lot longer than 10 days and still not seen all the area has to offer. Access to the airports etc is easy as the A7 motorway is 10 minutes away and the journey from Alicante airport took approx 1.5 hours of easy driving. Local supermarket is a 5 minute drive away and the bakers a 5 minute walk. Plenty of amenities locally if you don't fancy the drive to the Mercadona.
The villa itself has all you need for a comfortable stay and then some, if you can't find what you need in one of the drawers something is wrong. Plenty of space and the BBQ and pizza oven were used most days as well as the log burner when it went colder in the evening. Also worth a mention is the neighbour Mike who is a mine of information about where to go, market days etc, great guy.
All in all very happy and will be going again in the future.
Fantastic break away with the kids a gorgeous villa in the middle of nowhere yet the centre of everywhere
Great for a chilled break as a couple or an action packed break with the family. Everything you could possibly need will be found here from hair straighteners, plug adapters and kids inflatables, to towels, fairy liquid and a personal tour guide (Jason)
We landed on Easter Saturday when nothing was open and were greeted by a lovely English community down at the Union who sorted us out with everything we could possibly need to bbq ourselves through the weekend Nothing was ever too much to ask for from these guys and we couldn't have wished for any more ☺️
A hire car is a must, there's loads to do, gorgeous beaches & restaurants, go-karting, markets, mini-hollywood for the kids inclusive of a zoo (where we left ours for the week ) and much much more.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning very soon ☺️
This is our third stay at Villa Marissa but first in winter. Yet again we weren't disappointed. The Villa has everything you'll need no matter what the season. We'll definitely be back later in the year.
