We wanted to try a new restaurant in town, having been to most of the popular spots, and had loved the Latin joint that used to occupy this location so we stopped in. The Farm to Table or locavore movement is one that interests me so that was a bonus.

On a Friday night... We were seated promptly, greeted warmly, and the hospitality continued throughout the visit.

The arancini appetizer with tomato sauce was delicious, the mixed drinks were inventive and tasty, and our water glasses never got beyond half empty! My husband ordered the shrimp & grits and I ordered the pasta special topped with steak (ricotta ravioli in a white wine and butter sauce with roasted yellow tomatoes) and we were both beyond impressed. We took two desserts to go and they also impressed.

For an upscale restaurant the price was equally impressive- could not have gone to a chain steak house any cheaper!

We will be back, as frequently as possible!

Thank Rebecca C

My family went to The Station for my daughter's birthday. The place was crowded but we were quickly seated. The waitress was very friendly, attentive and very informative. The place is very nice and the atmosphere is enjoyable. It has a large selection of craft beers and eines, most are WV made. However, this is where the greatness ends. They had a special of the day that was a tortellini with onion cream sauce. My son and wife both ordered it. If there was a cup of pasta in it would we would have been surprised. Bland pasta with little sauce and rubbery like it had been reheated with a microwave. For $18 per plate it was disappointing and a ripoff. Then the 8 oz sirloin medallion steaks that the rest of the group were ordered med/rare. They were very tough and overdone. For $23.00 you would think it could be prepared properly. They say on the menu that they cook their foods simply, which is true. They also say splendidly and in a high quality. It may make the owner feel splendid to overcharge for subpar low quality food but as for its patrons, its a total disaster. If ya really want a great steak, chops or seafood, take the time to drive to Beckley to The Char. They know how to prepare foods properly and are so much more of a value than The Station. We won't be back!

Wow, just wow. Great meals made with locally sourced food, from the farm fresh salad, to the Cornish game hen over wild rice, to the trout with polenta and romanescu, it was all great.
While we didn't save room for dessert (probably a bad move on our part), we did order decaf coffee. We got freshly brewed French press from a local roaster.
The service staff was friendly and attentive.
Top it off with great music.

We took another couple out for dinner and this was a perfect place. The food was great, the service excellent and the menu very diverse and friendly for everyone. The toffee pudding for dessert was spectacular. The environment was spotless, pretty and the music low and nice. We loved it. The prices acceptable. Got our money's worth. Didn't get the waitress's name but she was great, wish I could mention her by name.

The server was very attentive to our needs and did not let a drink go empty. The food was all very good. I just wish there were side options and/or bread & salad for the price of the food. The food is very pricey and the quantity is kind of small. They also make great mixed drinks.
