The house was lovely& perfect for a girls’ weekend. It was quaint&charming. We spent many hours sitting around the cozy fireplace in the living room just talking. I would definitely come back!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Berkeley house. It was a good place to hang out with our local son, daughter-in-law and 1 year old grandchild. House is very clean and comfortable. Only negative is the beds which are full size and very firm. We knew the size so planned to sleep in two beds because my husband is 6'5". He said the footboard was a bit of a problem even sleeping diagonally.
If you have a toddler bring a child gate because the stairs to the lower floor are open. We had a gate so we didn't have to be nervous.
We enjoyed playing pool too. Walk into town is steep but we zig zagged a block downhill with a parallel block.
Upon arrival we were greeted with the air conditioners on (so thankful for that on a 90* day!), lights on, and a note from the owner. This clean, cozy cottage is located just a few blocks from downtown Berkeley Springs. It is a short but hilly walk to the Berkeley Springs State Park, where there is a museum, and wading pools to enjoy. The cottage is very roomy and open, and can easily accommodate a family. Bedrooms are large and well-appointed with plenty of room for belongings. The kitchen is well stocked, and towels and linens supplied in abundance. There are three porches to relax on and ample parking and turn-around room in the driveway.
We are very particular about the cleanliness of rentals and this place passed with top marks. All surfaces were sparkling clean and the floors were spotless. The furniture is comfortable and inviting.
We chose to visit the State Park, rent bikes in Hancock, MD (20 mins. north on 522) and ride the paved WMRT, and hike a portion of the Tuscarora Trail (trailhead on Rte. 9 towards Hedgesville). This cottage is the perfect location for area events and centrally located between Martinsburg, WV and Cumberland, MD.
My husband and I were looking for a place not too far from Pittsburgh so we could go away for our anniversary. We found Berkeley House through Trip Advisor. The house was charming, cozy and inviting. It's like stepping back into time but in a good way. There are two porches, one covered. There is a lovely dining room with french doors. The bedrooms are roomy and there is a gas fireplace. We enjoyed every minute of being there. It's close to restaurants and it makes you forget about your busy life. We wanted to stay longer.
