This is always my first thought whenever I think of a park in Renton. Just make sure that you go when its not too busy.

the park is huge which is nice. the issue is there is not sufficient parking for how big the park is to accommodate everyone.

It's sad in such a large park they do not allow bikes or dogs.

Free parking and lots to do. Great place to walk, eat, swim and enjoy the beauty of the Northwest. Get in early for easy parking sometime the lots are full especially during big summer events. Some people come early and claim barbecues and picnic tables by the lake. No Dogs allowed with stiff fine, No skate boards, Rollerblades and Bikes either. This place is a no brainer for free fun and natural beauty, Huge trees festoon the park and the City of Renton does a great job with maintenance. Enjoy

Gene Coupon Park is beautiful! Enjoy watching the sun either come up or set in the tranquility of this park sanctuary. You can enjoy strolling, power walking, or jogging around the parameters. There is an area for having barbecues, volleyball, soccer, fishing, and a children's playground. Two restaurants are on the grounds, plenty of restrooms, and relaxing places to read or rest. Fourth of July fireworks and concerts in the park are fun during summer months. Enjoy the autumn season when the leaves begin to change colors. It is a photographer's absolute delight! There is something for everyone that comes to this park!

I have lived in this area for 20 years and have never been to this Park. We are in love! Lots of paths to walk on, beach for swimming, grassy areas to have a picnic, volleyball courts, and a playground. We went on a Monday around 5pm and found plenty of parking. I could see on a nice weekend you would need to get there early.
