I have lived in this area for 20 years and have never been to this Park. We are in love! Lots of paths to walk on, beach for swimming, grassy areas to have a picnic, volleyball courts, and a playground. We went on a Monday around 5pm and found plenty of parking. I could see on a nice weekend you would need to get there early.

Thank Cheryl G

This beautiful park is situated on the south end of Lake Washington within view of an airport and a Boeing 737 plant. Whether you want to sit on the grass and watch all the activities, or become an active participant, there's something for everyone here. We enjoyed watching wind surfers sailing nearby, people cooling off with a swim, light aircraft coming and going and boat traffic passing. Wonderful place to come for a picnic as well.

If you go on a day when there is not a concert -- or a really nice sunny day, you may find parking. We went on a Wednesday this summer to eat at Ivar's. It was a night when there was a concert and not being able to find a parking place, we decided to eat somewhere else in Renton.

Love the fact that their are two restaurants within the park itself. The arboretum-style path is fun for tree lovers, too.

We frequent Gene Coulon Park as a great venue for a walk along the lake. They have a great piece of property with about 1 1/2 miles of pathway along the edge of the lake. They have a family beach, docks for fishing or strolling, restaurants, an area for sailing school, a boat launch, group picnic shelters, etc. Parking can be difficult on sunny weekends but otherwise it's a fine community space.
