As I arrived, Kimberly the proprietor greeted me with a warm smile, offered sparkling water and carried my suitcase into my delightfully appointed room, which has a coffeemaker, fridge with snacks and mini oven. The shower was hot and strong. It is so quiet and peaceful, you might hear a neighborhood dog or rooster or bird but otherwise soundless. The guest kitchen has cookies, port, coffee tea, granola available and has its own stove oven and washer drier for guests. The 4 nights I stayed went fast but I felt well refreshed after my visit. Ken the other host was super responsive to a request I had and the whole premises are immaculate and well cared for. It's very leisurely and laid back here so you can walk around the gardens, etc but still feel looked after and in good hands. A lovely area in Puget sound and a lovely guest house.

Dear April,

We always enjoy your visits and so many thanks for your kind words, and the putty-cat pot holders! I think of you when we use them, which is every day! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

A warm and friendly greeting by the hosts...not overdone...just right... followed by a wonderful evening on the beautiful property and a great night's rest in the Orchard Room...very nicely appointed with all the necessary bedroom and bathroom items...comfortable bed with soft, high quality linens...breakfast included breads and fresh fruits and eggs from neighbor George's chickens...terrific coffee!
Looking forward to returning on my next trip to points west of Seattle...BRAVO K&K!

Room Tip: easy accessibility to any room...the upstairs rooms have nice views of the property

The difficulty we had in making arrangements to take all four rooms of this B&B should have alerted us to potential problems. Those continued through the months leading to our daughter wedding and original plans for a post-wedding brunch that thankfully fell apart when the owner said she couldn't handle it. The rooms were okay, but the hostess was unfriendly from the first day to the last. Not aplace we could ever recommend staying at

Unfortunately, this reviewer was not the person who made arrangements with us. The original booking through VRBO was handed over to a third party - another family member - who failed to communicate to the rest of her group that our Guest Quarters had been booked as a Vacation Rental, not as individual rooms with private bath and breakfast - as Bed&Breakfast. We have a separate Guest Kitchen, so we double as a "self catering two story flat with fully equipped kitchen" , as well as renting out individual rooms with breakfast included in the price. When the folks arrived and found that unbeknownst to them, they were in a vacation rental (very pleasant, I may add!) and breakfast was not included - they became very aggressive and demanding. We tried to mollify them - and in fact served - at our expense - a lovely breakfast free of charge for eight - but still they were derisive and unhappy. They also seemed to chafe at the fact that we charge a separate grounds fee (200.00 is a great deal!) if they wanted to hold an event - and industry standard. They seemed to think that they could rent the Guest Quarters and thus were entitled to also hold a large event, with out charge. An event for 25 people includes liability, sanitation, garbage, and cleanup costs that any venue would include in their fee.
I chalk it up to a miscommunication with the original family member who booked - and then gave it over to another family member who did not tell everyone the details. The Green Cat Guest House has, over the last decade welcomed travelers from all walks of life and our raison d'etre is to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment. Our lesson learned from this - do not allow bookings to be transfered from one family member to another! We need to create a new agreement for a new person booking! Live, Learn, and appreciate the many wonderful people who have crossed our threshold!

Did not disappoint! The nicest place we stayed. So personal and a completely different feel from staying in a hotel. We were very comfortable and the beds have a temperpedic topped that makes you not want to get up. The food was pretty yummy and we enjoyed that it was tucked away from all the noise.

My wife and I stayed in the Master Suite and it was a complete delight. After driving "through the forest" to get there (it reminded us of Scotland or the north of England) we checked in and then sat on our balcony to partake of the basket of treats we'd pre-ordered (wine, cheese, crackers and fruit). The kitchen is stocked with snacks, including sherry and port, and guests can help themselves to a nightcap. In the evening, we wandered the grounds, glass of port in hand. The owners, Ken and Kimberley, have used lighting to transform the grounds into quite a magical place. Do take advantage of nice weather to sit outside. Kimberley is quite a chef and she prepared stuffed French toast one morning, and a vegetable quiche the next morning. All in all, we were extremely happy we chose this inn.

Room Tip: The Master Suite is roomy and comfy
