My Mom & I take a trip to PT once a year to The Commanders Beach House. We enjoy super hospitality from Gail & Jim, comfy accommodations, with hearty breakfast & enjoy the peaceful & exhilarating tides of Admiralty Inlet & Point Hudson water views from every window. The beach is right outside the porch of this historic 1934 building. A beautiful grassy yard with adirondack chairs & swing help to take in the sailboats, Whidbey Island Ferry, gorgeous flower garden & sounds of the water & wildlife.
The Beach House is the perfect place to stay all year round....summer of course lends a vacation atmosphere in Port Townsend that is an artistic experience & beach bliss.
The hidden treasure though is off-season...to experience the vibes of local culture & seaside quiet, settles down to the bones. We have experienced staying in each of the rooms & feel equal privacy. The Point Wilson Lighthouse is seen from the Commanders & is a short trip to visit Fort Worden State Park. Overall, the proximity to beach walking, shopping, dining & hanging out at Point Hudson Marina with coffee & camera is wonderful !
