Lovely weekend. The food was amazing and what a gorgeous location. Bed super comfy. Great service and Colin the host made us feel welcome and comfortable. Nothing was too much. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed in a "tent" for 2 nights, but it was so much more than that. Beautiful timber room with a canvas roof and rainwater tank converted into a external bathroom. The rooms were lovely, the food was 5-star "hatted" amazing, the views were serene and the staff (Chris and Colin plus doggies) were so friendly. Lots of chill out time and activities to do on the river. I'm a busy person normally but it was so nice to just leave that behind and just sit on the deck to read.

The road there was corrugated so can be a bit rough and you do have to drive across a river so check the tides. There are no power points in the tents either.

Was a particularly stinking hot day but the river cooled us off. Would love to visit again in winter for a different experience.

We enjoyed 2 restful, relaxing and indulgent nights at the studio. Col and Lucy had organised a masseuse to come to our studio on arrival so that was a perfect start we then enjoyed an excellent 3 course dinner. The second day began with French toast, caramelised banana, bacon and maple syrup and coffee. So yummy!! We then went down to the River and utilised the complimentary SUPs and swam. It is so tranquil. A gorgeous salad of haloumi, chorizo and tomatoes for lunch with wine overlooking the river. Idyllic. We scored a Panna Cotta with our lunch as Col had a couple to spare. It was delicious. Another sensational dinner that evening. The food was at premium restaurant standards. Very impressive. Breakfast the following day was scrambled eggs, avocado, tomatoes and smoked salmon. Again it was delicious. Huge thank you for looking after us so well.

It would be easy to say nothing about this magnificent place??
Why?
Only so it can be kept secret from the masses and would always be
easy to secure a booking for a few days!!
The Escape makes you feel as though you are visiting with good personal friends
Who have a beautiful country retreat
The welcome, The little personal touches, The food and its presentation, Layback conversations in the lounge or around the camp fire,
Attention to every detail
The tents and their ultra comfortable beds, glorious views, Uber ensuites!!
Wildlife, The stars at night
Its hard to beat for a total wind down and relax
No or minimal phone reception is perfect
And you need to remember you are actually camping!? Well "Glamping"
So the fact that there is no power points in your tent or in the bathrooms is not so unrealistic, I mean who actually has power in a tent in the middle of nowhere anyway??
Truly if you want the ultimate alternate getaway, This is very hard to beat
Try it you will not be disappointed

Room tip: Individual Tents (more than tents really) or units all with stunning views and privacy

"You,camping?!!" your friends may exclaim incredulously as did ours when we told them we were going to spend three days, including New Year's Eve,by the banks of the Clyde River in a tent.Well let me reassure you this was no ordinary tent, and certainly no ordinary campsite.
The whole experience at The Escape is conducive to just that, escape.Escape from the noise and hustle and bustle of the city to be replaced by the sounds of kookaburras and bell birds, among many others I couldn't name, lush green bush, towering eucalypts, mobs of kangaroo and of course the cooling, serene waters of the river. You sleep in oh so comfortable beds cocooned in your "tent". You have an adjacent well appointed bathroom and a deck to relax on.And of course you have Colin and his friendly, helpful team to look after you.
Did I mention the food? That alone would be worth a visit.Beautifully presented, thoughtful and delicious--and the coffee's good too!
You can use your time just for relaxation or revel in the river, swimming, kayaking, stand up boarding in peace and tranquillity.
Getting to The Escape does require negotiating unsealed roads and a causeway crossing. This was no problem, paying attention to the tides,in our two wheel drive vehicle.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
