We are big fans of sister restaurant The Black Duck in Issaquah, and had tried this place a few months ago with absolute delight. As boomers, we kept telling our millennial kids and their family how great it was, and how wonderful the historic North Bend district renaissance was. So we took them here for lunch and proved our point. This is an industrial chic rehabbed historical building with a very comfortable vibe, but the star is the great menu....funky, ducky, porky yumminess that you won't regret. Or if you do, they have great salads and a soup of the day to ease your conscience. Portions are ample, and you will likely have edible take-aways. Big array of craft beers and libations. Great staff, friendly and cheerful. Kiddie menu and high chairs and a welcoming attitude towards families (crayons and coloring sheets provided!). Then after, have a walkabout in the charming North Bend historic district, which is a wonderful antidote to the frenzied coolness of Bellevue/Lincoln Square or the tourist anthill of downtown Seattle. Revitalization and a small-town vibe are absolutely delightful. You'll feel like you have discovered a wonderful little pocket of the Pacific Northwest that maybe you thought didn't exist anymore.
